Thumbs up 2 Damns

I just got home from the H2O concert that I went to up in New Haven, CT and discovered two things.

1st: Damn, Audi's have alot of top end. I tried to keep up with an A6 and that sucker just pulled away from me once we got over about 90mph.

2nd: Damn, the Merrit Parkway in CT is soooooo much fun at night when there is hardly anyone on it and you can really open it up. It is also a little scary when you are going fast because of all the turns and crests that you can not see around when you are unable to use your high beams.

Oh, and the concert was really good too, 4 bands for 13 bucks, three of which were really good.

Oh no kidding. I think I heard about that show. (Ehhh ... maybe from you, perhaps...)

The Merritt *is* a BLAST. I did that commute everyday (north of Trumbull - so, 'not too conjested). I miss it.

A WRX would have trouble with an A6 4.2 or A6 2.7t on the highway. Pretty much any car could take an A6 2.8 at any speed. Which one was it? The 4.2 has flared fenders.

I'm not sure which Audi it was but yes I know not to mess with a higher end Audi, Eugene, and I wasn't. We were going the same speed up this long hill and he just took off when we came over the crest, he had to be doing well over 125mph by the time he went out of my sight. Either way I was having to much fun on that road to really car about running with the guy.

Not to go off topic on audi's but I read something crazy about the s4 turbo that they detuned the car so much because they were afraid at its price, still way above wrx, it would hurt a6 and a8 sales. It apears you can pick up over 75hp with a chip, intake and exhaust that's crazy gains. Any truth to this.

The 2.7t is found in the S4 and the A6 2.7t and they're both rated at the same power. It's also just as easy to squeeze another 100hp out of either car while keeping it fairly stock, so watch out!

For the week or so that my RS is being repaired I'm gonna have an Audi. However it is an older one which is not in the best of shape, but it's still an Audi.

Let's face it these cars are both based on rally heritage. If I had to run an old school audi make mine the orig Qattro coupe..... SWEEEEET.
I almost bought the audi all road wag instead of the wrx wagon but it came down to the $$$$$$. Wrx was just a better deal IMO

zephyr....a newbie to the merrit?? hehehe. Yeh that pkwy is a blast late at night, especially for cars with tweaked suspensions. When I was in college in the bronx, I used to go there late at night for joy rides....you could even drift a bit around some of those corners. I DON"T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DO THIS!!
