Unhappy Tire Prices Rising in Jan

Read in financial news that Goodyear, Bridgestone, and Firestone tires are raising their prices between 3-5% in January.

Thats stupid... Firestone/Bridgestone sales are way down cause of the whole exploding tire fiasco... Should they DECREASE price to attract more buyers?
