Question Any way to get more Rev's out of the 1.8?

I really dont like the low red-line in the 1.8, and It sure does feel like theres another 500-750rpms left... (MPREZYA thought so too)
Heck, the EJ20 gets so many more rpms, yet is based on the 1.8.

Has anyone tried to raise the redline without major modifications? Is it possible? Will the engine go POP (not like I would be going 6500rpms every time I shift )?

If anything would be the limitation it would be the heads. And if anything knows about cylinder heads it would be cobb. Give them a call and see what they say...

The valve train would be the place to go. New cams and stronger springs. Then the ECU would have to altered to change the rev limiter. Of course I'm no expert, so I'm sure you'll get some better opinions now that one has been voiced.
