The only difference I see is in the boost targets. They are a tick higher for the 6k. Even the fuel and ignition maps look the same with the Z4.
Rev limit -- 7100 RPM Max target boost -- 0.94 bar (13.6psi) Fuel cut -- 1.08 bar (15.7psi) Speed Limit -- 113 MPH -Rob |

Are you sure about that rev limit? On Kbahus's 6K ECU I know he took it to 7500 a few times without hitting the limiter. Moose told him it was 7800-8000 when he sold it to him...

If it is chipped that would explain a lot. I never pulled the cover on it to see if it was chipped and I don't have it anymore. And before you say anything, I know you wanted it, but a local offered me silly money for it along with a stripped Ej20G harness ready for swapping. I just couldn't pass it up...

And I just picked up a scoobyecu for ~$100 to safely get up to 1.1bar and use regular pump gas. Although at $4.99/gal for 100, its not looking that much more based on the prices for 91 out here. |

AFAIK the STI ECUs rev higher than the stock WRX; the EUDM EJ20K ECU (MY97) allows 7200 rpm, 0.87 bar (fuel cut 1.08 bar) without speed limit - typically with long WRX gearing these do 6k in fifth at about 240-250 kph on the speedo.

check out this seller on ebay: rick9761
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=290106380853 some go for more, some less. Seems like he is making them by coping the scoobyecu map onto new chips. Either way I should get it in a week or so and update the differences. |
