Default Best way to get FULL turbo boost?

I was wondering what is the best way to get full boost from the turbo?

Sometimes if I'm at 3000+ rpms and floor it I will only get about 12psi.

Is the best way just to mash the pedal to the floor, get the car up to 3000rpms then floor it, or just apply constant pressure to the gas pedal?

Jeff

You'll need an aftermarket boost controller (EBC or MBC). It is my understanding that in 1st you only get partial boost, in 2nd you get a little more but not full, and 3rd-5th the computer will let you go full boost.

Not, for sure, so no yelling...but I thought the number was 4000 rpm and you should see full boost, but I've noticed that sometimes I do see less, and occasionally a higher spike in boost.

They're right though, unless you change the chip or boost controller, you'll have to live with what it's giving you.

OK, maybe I should clarify my question a little.

In fourth or fifth gear (which should show full boost) and floor it, when I'm already at 3000+ rpms, I only hit about .9Mpa on my turbo gauge (about 12psi). But if I'm at say 2000rpms or lower and mash the throttle I sometimes see .1Mpa (about 14.5psi).

Does the amount of boost you see have anything to do with engine load? Is there anyway to achieve full boost if you are already at about 3000rpms?

yes....that is correct...
you should never see full boost in 5th gear...

thats just how they tuned it...your boost tapers off at higher RPMs to save both the turbo and engine. If you want to have full boost longer ... or just more boost for a given rpm...get an mbc or ebc

do you have a boost gauge???

I don't know how an auto differs from a manual in that respect. But I would like to know...

Right, but what "feels" like full boost, may not be. The only way to know how much boost you are making is with a boost guage, so do you have one? If yes, are you making full boost (~14.5psi) in 4th gear @ 40mph? What RPM does that translate to? This information will answer your question.
