this should go in the stupid question thread, but...

Is there any legitimate reason that a dealer would charge $1,430 for title and registration?

Mind you, this is not TAX tag and registration, just title and registration.

The car cost is $17,000 and in Maryland.

MVA states that title and registration fees, from their website, are around $250.

I'm calling BS on it, but wondering if there is any sort of 'dealer' fee that could possibly justify a $1,200 markup.

Yeah, they screwed up and fixed it. Tag and Title was $271.
