Default Has anyone tried this HID kit?

I was just looking on ebay and found this kit. The pictures look pretty convincing(but it's still an ebay kit). Does anyone know what modification has to be done with these. It says it comes with the bulbs and high voltage bulb wires. <-what are those? Thanks. Im not looking to buy this, i was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this company and it's kits.

High voltage wires is a fancy way of saying it has thicker wires (lower gauge number, gauge increases as size decreases) and is able to safely carry the rated voltage/current without overheating. It's basically a marketing term.

It also seems a little cheap. One thing to notice too is that all of cars they show with the beam patterns are OEM HID equipped (EVO, STI) so they may be using these bulbs, but already have projectors.

I bet that they look just as crappy as any other HID "kit". They never show the beam pattern up against a flat wall. Most of the cars that they show are already equipped with HIDs. The few cars that they show that didn't come with HIDs they show the pics of the front of the car, and usually tons of glare even with the camera looking down at the car from something like a 30 degree angle.

Don't buy "kits".

danielstearnlighting.com FTW.

all I see is a pair of bulbs, I'd hardly consider that a kit.

I've heard the 04 reflectors aren't all THAT bad when it comes to converting them to HID's. Who knows though...

The auction is not for a kit, just a pair of bulbs. Since their origin is not specified they are probably of the cheap Asian variety. No idea what the wires are about, HID ballasts have the bulb output wires permanently attached.
Please read the HID FAQ at the top of this forum for more HID information.

That auction is just for the replacement bulbs.

But other than that, Ive been running those for about six months with NO Problems. Another person I know was convinced when he saw mine and bought a set. They're brighter than the old CATZ set-up. The wiring is great, easy to set up, and the ballast box is built great.

I vote for them.

If you want HID's do it the right way. Buy from a vendor on here and you will know what you are getting is quality. With many of the kits on Ebay and knock off's, many of them could not work properly or even worse be a fire waiting to happen.JMO
