Default Removing the 06+ roof spoiler

I'm having trouble cutting my window tint for the back glass on my 07 STI and i dont want to trim it with the tint inside of the car (dont want to damage the radio antenna or defrost).

How do i remove the roof spoiler without damaging it?

thanks

Chris

Find someone with a WRX or 2.5i and buy them lunch while you measure their window.....

much simpler

remove the plastic clip on the back of the base pieces with a philips screw driver.

slide the covers up and towards the back of the car (there are two clips inside that will give some resistance, dont pull towards the side or you'll break them. Slide in a direction thats about paralell to the leading edge of the covers)

unbolt the blade

unbolt the brackets

remove.

its really quite simple once you get the covers off.

the tint place I went to did it with out removing the the spoiler.

it was worth the 160 for lifetime waranty. I'm a little lazy when it comes to doing stuff like that

My tinter did not have to pull the spoiler... I probably wouldn't have let him tint if he said he had to remove it.

Love your car. Spend the money to have a professional tint job performed.

My friend did tint for a business back in the days and hes doing it for me for free. we're using Quantum Tint with life time warrenty and hes really good at it. He just never done a new STI with a roof spoiler. he could of trimmed the tint with it inside but didnt want to accidently mess up the radio antenna and defrost.

anyways i already removed the roof spoiler. basicly removed the plastic screw. popped off the outer cover by pushing it up and toward the rear. once the cover was off, remove the 4 bolts and out came the spoiler.
