Question Minor Oil Leak Discovered!

Okay, I recently had the free car care clinic inspection performed by my local dealer. They sent me home and then I realize that at the bottom of the invoice sheet they noted

"a minor oil leak at the oil pump"

1. I thought the pump was located inside the pan?

2. Anyone know a ballpark cost for repair?

3. When is the STi coming?

Thanks,
Oqui

First, I would try to cerify that myself before sweating it out...

My story is; as I was taking down my up pipe to install and egt sensor bung I noticed a little seeping (or just oil staining) at the head gasket (driver's right) towards the front.

With the exhaust manifold bolted up there would have been no way I would have seen this until it started to become a bigger leak.

It doesn't seem to be happening on the left side...

Now, I'm curious, is any one else having this happen?

You may still be under warranty first off. Second if it is minor wait til your t-belt is changed ( it will save you around 200 labor)

I just had the oil pump changed out on my 2000 legacy outback.
The work was covered under warranty. While doing my last oil change @ 36k miles I noticed oil starting to coat the underside.

The dealer suggested since they were going in,I could have the
T-belt and Drive belts changed out for just the price of the parts
(which I get for 20% off )

Unhappy

Hopefully the repair is covered in my extended warranty (3rd Party).

Next time I go in for an Oil change and maintenance schedule I'll probably get it fixed.

What does that run $$ ?

Thanks for the responses.
