Default Intrawests' plans for Whistler

Wow I just received this email from interwest and saw a few details on the news about it.

http://ww1.whistlerblackcomb.com/p2pg/home.html

This is going to be freaking cool get to ride both mountains in a day in only eleven min. from one side to another.

It's going to be 415 meters high and 4.4 km long... They might even have two gondalas that have a glass bottom.... I don't mind hieghts but being up 415 meters would be a little freaky.

You will have to pay extra to use this lift, and I'm pretty sure it's standing only. Should be a fun ride for sightseers, but I have my doubts it will be very useful for skiers/boarders.

Agreed WhistlerRally.
This seems like a good idea to bring Whistler's tourists to both peaks though. I can see it now, high end restaurants on Whistlers peak, and pubs on Blackcomb's peak. Neat project though, I know I'll be taking a ride on it one day.

I'm not too enthusiastic about this - might be a little bit of an eyesore.

Then again, I wasn't too thrilled about the Symphony chair, but had some good times on it this year.

would be a nice ride on a sunny day. I can imagine it being closed most of the time due to wind though...

edit: watch the flyover videos. Man I am excited.
