I'll be heading down tomorrow night.

We actually have 3 bc cars entered.
All of which have a chance to win their class.

Pat in Open
Aaron Neumann in G2
and Norm LeBlanc in PGT

Go BC People!

haha, I made a double entendre and I didn't even realize it.

Really though, I thought car selection had a huge impact on what class he would run in. I figured something like that would have been established long before trailering down the I5.

Then again, I'm a rally newb and don't know much about the dyunamics of competition.

On that note, did Nathalie retire, or is she just sitting this race out?

Nathalie is co-driving for others this season (Wyeth Gubelmann in US and Antoine L'Estage in Canada).

And yes, car selection IS class selection. He probably wasn't sure what car he was going to run (or didn't specify on the entry form) and the online entry/start lists are often a little behind in being updated.

that's interesting stuff WhistlerRally.
According to lummer, it looks like he's running in the open class.

On that note, ESPN doesn't appear to be available to Shaw customers.
I really hope they replay this rally on a Canadian station. This should be a hell of an event.

Hypes, he is running open class and the car was built for that. I think we just failed to say which class we were entering or the organizers weren't sure since the last time we did the event we were running in GrpN. This season we purpose built the cars for OPEN but we have all the parts/engine etc to go GrpN as well.

There can be some huge differences between an Open car and a Group N. It's quite a feat to be able to make the changes to run in either class. Regardless, it's a fascinating form of racing. To be going sideways on a dirt road at 75mph, you need more than skills, you need matching balls.

Just for giggles, here's a pic of an Open class engine comp.

And a pic of a Group N engine comp.

For those who want to read up onthe differences, here's a great SCC article.
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/events/0503scc_rally/
It even mentions Pat.

Black one or Red one. We took two cars down, one behind the cube van and one behind a KingCab.
