Girl at drive through: "I really like the....(wait for it) COLOR!" uh...thanks. Sigh...
- nevermind that lots of $12k cars now are blue.

Guy at minimart: "hey, I really like your paint job, who did it?"
Me: uh, Subaru (WRB ftw)

"Aren't those things Australian?"

A little off-topic tidbit from the local lube-shack when I had a turbo RX-7:

"So, is it a 4 cylinder or a 6-cylinder?"
Me: "It's neither, it's a rotary"
Lube guy: "It's one or the other...how many spark plugs does it have?"
Me: "four"
Lube guy: "Ok, so it's a four cylinder"
Me: "no, it's got two rotors and four spark plugs. Maybe I should get this serviced elsewhere"

him: "Why does your exhaust note sound lumpy?"
me: "It's got unequal length exhaust headers."
him: "Ah, makes sense, cool."

guy: "Yeah, I used to have an Outback too."
me: "..."

gas jockey: "What are those red things. Lights?"
me: "They are horns."
gj: "Wow, I bet they are loud."
me: "Yes."

some dude: "Is that a radiator on top of your engine?"
me: "No, it's an intercooler. It cools the air coming from the turbo."
sd: "..."

passenger: "Where did you buy that Momo steering wheel?"
me: "It came stock with the car."
p: "Really!? The Momo shift knob too?"
me: "No, I bought that."
p: "..."

passenger: "What's the rattling/clunking noise coming from the back of the car."
me: "It's my Tein coilovers. They do that."
me:

passenger: "How fast does this car go."
me: "Hmm..."

I have senior citizens saying that my station wagon (using their terminology) is nice looking. In reguards to my WRX wagon.

It's hilarious! I'm flattered.

Is your car misfiring?

What you got in that thing?

Is that wing to take off?

When you gonna get a blow off valve.

Personally....I would have been insulted if someone told me I drove a friggin Hyundai. Infact, I had one guy at work say when I unlocked my doors the other night say "Gee, your car beeps nicely when you unlock the door instead of a horn sound".

Yep.

1) Waiting in my car outside a building to pick up a friend, when another person rolls up next to me:
Person: Is that a new model?
Me: Yes, it's an 06.
Person: You enjoy it?
Me: Absolutely.
Person: It's not a very good looking car. [drives off]

2) Every so often, people will confront me and ask me why I didn't get a STI. Most of the time, I don't have the energy to explain.

3) Whenever someone sits in the backseat:
Backseat Passenger: Why is this car so small/Your car is really cramped back here/Can you move your seat up

i'm bord as hell at home so i'll contribute my 2 memorable stories... both stories relates to all those stickers i HAD on my car... which are all off the car now...

1: while i was pulling my car into a parking stall in front of the entrance to a mall(chinese mall, well i am chinese after all) a cucasian family comes out the entrance to the mall. their son sees my car and gets all excited and yells "WOW RACECAR!"... i smiled and the kid ran up to my drivers side door... i decided to let him sit in the drivers seat since i had time to spare... the kid was sooooooo happy sitting inside my car, he was so hyped up... the family even took a picture of him sitting inside... after the pic, the family said nice car and thankyou... and left

2: i went on a roadtrip to some hotsprings 2 hours drive away from my city... the hot springs were located in a small quiet town where they dont see much modified car, or even have any modified cars at all... as i drove into town, my dp+catback(louad as hell) and all the decals obviously caught people's attention... but most importantly it caught a group of kid's attention... they were ridding their bikes towards my direction when they saw me drive by... i saw them all turn their heads staring at my car in amazement and almost crashing into each other's bikes lol...

not really funny or stupid but they're memorable...

Anyone with CGM knows this one: How come the front fenders are a different color silver?

After driving with my gf and her friend:
friend: you don't have to turn that fast...you don't need to try and impress me
me: wait...what?
my gf: no...really, this is nothing
