Yeah, in VA especially, which I so fondly call "Little Russia". the traffic and car laws are SO numerous and most of the time so vaguely written that at any given time any cop who really knows his stuff could find a reason to pull you over and write you at least 5 infractions. This is according to my brother who is a VA State Trooper, by the way. Even He and most of the troopers he knows says our traffic and car laws are so convoluted it is just ridiculous, especially with all the new fines that just went into affect, July 1st, He said any law enforcement officer with a conscience just got 200% more reluctant to write any of those offenses, unless someone else is being but in danger, i.e. someone going 30mph over the posted speed. anyway enough ranting, sorry for hijacking the thread.

Well, I dont think you understand. I didn't floor it or anything, I just got the perfect start and went at like half throttle. Probably only like half boost.

"You drive a Saab?"

Although this isn't a Subaru, this one is timeless...

My friend was filling up his E36 3 series (M3 Motor, Suspension, BBS Wheels) and was approached by a middle aged man filling up his Rav4.

Man: "Aren't you a little young to be driving a BMW?" (He's 19)
Friend: "Aren't you a little old to be driving a Toyota?"

At that point the man walked back to his Rav4.

If you want to get technical, turbo headers are tubular exhaust manifolds.

Leaving my friends house, i was behind my friend he burns out in his truck, it was alittle wet. I take off normal, its like 2 in the morning, i was done speeding for the day. So i get behind my friend, all of a sudden he takes a quick right into residential, i keep straight thinking wtf. There was a car stopped in the middle of the road, so i go around it, making my way alittle in the left turn lane. i realize my friend turned becuase he saw a cop on the opposite side, but i didnt. Needless to say im going ten miles under speed limit. Here it gets better
Cop flips a bitch, and pulls next to me, signalling me to roll my window down

cop-hey buddy you want to slow down there
me-oh my bad, i didnt think i was going over the speed limit
cop-woah woah how about you pull over to the side
me- alright
So i pull over and im like wtf
then it gets funny
cop-i know everything about your car kid, why did you burn out into the intersection
me-really really really nervous, cause i just got a speeding ticket a week earlier. i was like uh uh i didnt do that. i cant burn out.
cop-have you been drinking tonight
me-no way not in this car
cop-asked me about 5 more times. then said alright im going to follow you home
me-i live like 15 min away from where i was. i had to drive
cop-talks to my mom telling her that im a bad kid, i was 19, and i drive really bad. that i
should get a vw bug etc. my mom says alright cool. i then go out to get some frostys for the family =)
Mind you that the cop was at the botom of hill and i was on the other side of the hill, so he couldnt see me exit. And i have a pretty good eye for cops. I love it the only time i dont speed, i get busted. sorry for the long story had to get it out

Kid: nice ride
Me: thanks
Kid: does it have a turbo?
Me: damn straight!
Kid: i'll would trade you cars anyday
Me: what do you drive?
Kid: (points over to his car, which is a early 90's model honda prelude with ground effects and the paint looks like its been spray painted)
Me: I wouldn't

and the other day i pulled up to my job and got out, i was a little early so i figured i would grab a smoke before go in (i don't smoke in my car, i hate trying to clean up the ashes.) so im standing by the doors of the building talking to my boss and i see to guys looking in the hood scoop of my car. i heard one guy what kind of car is it to the other guy, who is standing behind my car. the guy behind my car reply was " i don't know, theres no badging on the trunk" i just laughed.

and i've been asked if my car was a "momo" once!

i got another one from a work employee... this one probably soudns common to all you guys.

we were standing in front of my car when this happened (break time)

guy: whats that? (points INTO the hood scoop)
guy: is that the air filter?

before i had a chance to say another, my brother was standing next to me and he just started laughing his ass off. then i giggled and told him what it was.

See, now that's just a dick attitude. And then people wonder where the stereotype of BMW drivers being pricks comes from.

If I was him, I would have just said "I guess I'm doing alright in life" and went back to whatever it was I'm doing ...

Owning an E36 doesn't remotely mean you are doing well in life....

There was a cop that pulled me over that was convinced I drove a Honda Civic until I said he needed to learn to read and showed hom my trunk that says in bold silver print SUBARU.

Had a mucle car idiot at the track that said I was a retard and didnt know anything about motors when I told him it was a flat 4, then explained how its set up. He said, thats impossiable and a motor like that didnt exist! He then went on to explain how theres no way a 4 cylander could be that fast and I had to have a V8 in my car. "Just listen to how it sounds... you hear that rumble, thats American muscle!. This guys hiding what hes got under that hood" while standing directly in front of the car with the hood wide open for god and the world to see! Me and the rest of the guys I was with almost **** ourselves laughing
