actually, come to think of it, many people seem quite surprised when i tell them that my STi has a 4-cylinder engine in it. i guess it sounds like- and performs like- it has more...

This happened almost monthly when I was in college...

Classmate: So your car is just like a WRX right?
Me: Yeah, same drivetrain, interior, everything.
Classmate: So it's turbo right?
Me: ... Yeah, it's got the same everything as a WRX...
Classmate: Cool, so is it AWD too?
Me: Literally the only differences between my car and a WRX are the body panels and the little Saab badges on the hood and hatch.
Classmate: Cool...

Parts counter experiences are always fun too.

Me: Can I get 4 sparkplugs for a Saab 9-2X Aero please?
Parts Guy: Hmmmm... That's wierd, I'm not really getting any good results in my system.
Me: Well, try searching for an '05 Impreza WRX then.
PG: Why? What good would that do?
Me: Well, it would tell us the part numbers since it's the same car...
PG: Haha, you're telling me a Subaru and a Saab are the same thing? [typing] ... Hmm, how about that, it is the same engine. You learn something new every day!
Me: Facepalm

As if thats not expected owning the "prim and proper, bring home to the parents" version of a tuner car (The 5-door).

Thats actually how one of the reviews was wrote on the 5 door in a D-Sport that i got in 2008 lol.

I installed the Hella Supertone Horn Kit.
I went to work the next day and was asked if my ipod plays through the speakers?
I said I hope so why?
He said the speakers in your grill area, does it play through them?
I said dude they are HORNS!
He said wow they look like speakers
He is a mechanic so what does that tell ya.

Well, they are speakers.

A loudspeaker (or "speaker") is an electroacoustic transducer that converts an electrical signal into sound

Probably directed towards you. I had to re read your paragraph about 5 times before I fully understood what you wrote. Not to mention you were street racing. Should have waited for a school zone it helps hype up the moment.
