Default Denial of warrantee

First Incident-
Name: Sanford Shuster
Make: WRX STi 2006
Mileage: 3,879
Time out of Service: 1 week
Problem & Probable Cause: Left rear end link broke; right rear end link bent in "U"shape. Had luggage in car and went over big dip in highway and not a rut or pot hole. The suspension seemed to bottom and heard a loud noise.
Submitted for Warrantee: yes
Reason for Denial: Dealer said I must of hit a huge pot hole or big crack in the road.
My Story: The endlinks are very flimsy given how the rest of the STi suspension is built. I replaced the factory ones with Cobb Billet Aluminum ones and have had no problems since. The part was definately defective as a design as others I know have had the same problem.
Second Incident-
Mileage: 6,800
Time out of Service: 1 week
Problem & Probable Cause: Oil leak from main oil line coming from Turbo and back into engine block. Pin hole found in oil line right before banjo fiting of line coming out of turbo. Defective oil line.
Submitted for warrantee: yes
Reason for Denial: Dealer said that line had been twisted and that is why it failed.
By Story:No one ever went near the oil line.

Modifications: Cobb Stage 2; Cobb Turbo back exhaust; Cobb lowering springs; Defi Gauges; Cobb blow-off Valve

It wasn't touched when installing the cobb turboback exhaust? I'd say they probably came to that conclusion since the car is modded and very likely someone was in there. had you been stock it would have been a different story.

If you're not stock then don't expect to get parts replaced under warranty. For example, the COBB springs lower the car too much so I don't blame the dealer for not covering the endlinks...although they were probably flipped during the install...very common. I don't know why people refuse to understand that you pay to play.

I have seen rear sway bars installed incorrectly(it is easy to do) and damage the endlinks.

flipped end links usually result in the vehicle sitting higher then stock in the rear.

If you mod your car in any way shape or form you give the dealership just cause to deny you .
