Default Trade to subie or keep it....

So i also have a 97 cav z24 that i just paid off a few months ago. fiance wants a legacy wagon of simlilar year maybe, like an L pretty much, nothing fancy/fast. I put quite a bit of money into the cav i.e. 4 new struts last summer/brakes/replace tranny fluid/alternator/battery/tires.
i wouldn't mind trading but i know the cav pretty good now after 4 years and (also having a previous 95 z24) and i know it's quirks and at 143k miles that ld9 2.4 litre is still very strong. The body is in pretty good shape too, with only a little rust on the doors. For around 3-4k would a leggy wagon in similar shape be wroth trading in/up? Seems like it makes more sense to keep the cav just cuz i know it well and it's in good shape mechanically-no sense in getting rid of an otherwise good vehicle right? i'd get her an impreza wagon but she things they ugly (i don't!!) also are there and weird flaws for the 95-99 l wagons?

cn: have 97 z24 in good shape/bunch of new parts, worth trading to 95-99 leggy wagon to come out near even??

You're asking a Subaru forum if you should trade your Z24 for a Legacy?

since the cavalier is paid off I would say; save the money that would have went to the car payment for 5 or 6 months and then put a down payment on a Legacy, soooo I guess to answer your question; trade it in

Realistically though; if it runs good I would keep it until it falls apart IF you are disciplined enough to save money to make a down payment on a different car when the cavalier dies.
