Unhappy Texas speeding ticket help??

Hey all,

I've already taken defensive driving this year to get outta one ticket and my luck has it that I get another ticket a week ago. 75 in a 65 on mopac in Austin. Now my question is, he didn't check the box that says how he got me, where it says visual, paced, radar and laser. He also got me going the wrong direction, says s/b but i was going n/b. I was wondering if I could get off on a technicallity, has anyone been a simular situation? I'm thinking that I should go to court and ask to have it deferred so I can take defensive driving. Any ideas?!?!?

TIA,
BrianR

I am the ticket king, or at least used to be.... I've been using David Sprecher here in Houston for 14 years and he's never got a ticket on my record. He's reffered me to Terry Stork, of Stork & Stork, in Austin. Although i've never had a ticket in Austin, i'd give him a call at 512-442-2335. Pretty much a sure thing he'll get it "taken care of".

Yep, and don't forget Charles Michulka, for people like me, out in Brazoria County. My best(worst) to date, 97 in a 55

400 bucks later, nothing on record

Just finished taking take home DD again.

Remember, you can ask the judge to take DD again if you are not eligable. A judge can allow you to take DD more than once a year. I know

It's nice to have a little power in the family; my Dad and brother are both lawyers as well.

Yes it is. Only thing that sucks is that she had to sign an agreement not to do any work outside the "company", because they could be liable. Oh well. The only trouble I ever have is tickets.

Default Two Words

Deffered Adjudication (sp?) If you are ineligible to take DD, ask for deffered adjudication, that means that your ticket is deffered, and you are put on "probation" It depends on the area and court, but it usually is a 6 month period in which you can not get a ticket, and sometimes have to take DD. the fee is usually the same as the fine, but it doesn't go on your record..

I've been cautious and lucky for a long time. Last speeding ticket was 72 in a 55 zone in Pennsylvania, 4 years ago. The cop was sitting behind a clump of trees near an onramp and timing traffic between the mile markers with a stopwatch.

My BEL-980 should be arriving this Monday, though. I just love electronic gadgets

Curious as to what the fee may be, I got picked off doing 85 in a 65 last year, took DD. Since I got the OBS I haven't been over 80, but I want to.

As far as the fees go with lawyers, it's usually the cost of the ticket for representation. If your lucky, that'll be all, but in some instances you may pay additional fees such as court fines and fees. In my opinion, it's still worth it just to have the violation "off the record."

So I can either pay the "revenuers" or pay a lawyer roughly the same amount or a little more, not have to take DD *and* keep my record clean?!?!

Jeez, I feel better already!

Just so you know... if you do defer it then any ticket you get during the probation can void it. i.e. not just getting other speeding tickets (you then have to pay the for the ticket and it goes on your record). Shouldn't be a problem if you are a little careful

Fee was 150 dollars, but I did a little shoping, hehe, lawyer shoping, and everyone for ticket violations were 150$. Its worth it to keep it off my record. He says, if we get a good judge, that we can prolly get the Defered Judifcation w/ a waved DD course - so i'll just be on probation.
