Default how to remove silver steering wheel trim?

How do you remove the silver trim on the WRX steering wheel? I can't find clips, and i looks like it goes under the airbag cover a good bit.

I believe there are screws behind it? Not 100% though I just remember reading this somewhere. Look through the interior vinyl wrap thread, I think it's in there.

You need to remove the airbag and then pull the steering wheel off. Then remove the black rear cover and remove the screw holding it on. There might be an easier way, but that's how I removed mine to vinyl wrap.

You might be able to pull the back cover aside after you take the airbag off. You can try to pull it off and rotate it enough to get to the screw on the back.

My guess is, you could drill a hole thru that back cover to remove the screw that holds the silver trim. It'd have to be perfectly placed to get the screw out. You'd never see the hole once done, or you could buy a plastic plug / cap at Autozone to fill the hole.

I have an extra trim piece at home that I wrapped in real carbon fiber. This was my plan of attack for the install, just haven't gotten there yet.
