Default Any Scooter owner on here?

I have posted this in another forum but i can't believe i missed the NASIOC!

anyone currently own a scooter on here? what's the year / make / model / mileage / mod? and how do u like it?

i bought a 2005 yamaha bws about a month ago, loved riding it so much but i sold it a week ago and picked up a 2007 Kymco Super 9...

i did 550km on the yamaha (bought it used at 1725km, sold it at 2275km) in 3 weeks

and i did 230km in the first 3 days i owned the Super 9...

i rode 140km the first day cruising to UBC, then RMD, then SFU and back home...it was quite a ride...

too bad weather is so bad this week, but i hope maybe other than a subie meet maybe we can have a scooter meet instead? of course subie will be welcome...just simply a gathering while most ppl should have finished their finals...and before summer courses get busy?

Had an old Yamaha 90cc (I think it was called a Jog?) scooter when I was vacationing overseas in Taiwan for a few months, a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Terrible when it rains though but its great on gas and it's an fun way to go sight seeing/cruising or a quick bite to eat.

Took it to Scooter by Granville island and had the 80km/h hop up kit put in... really basic but they don't charge for work anyway. New pipe, hot plug, roller bearings, flywheel. The thing rocks now!! I have just as much fun on that as i do on my Suzuki GS500

I have what's called a Hyosung Prima on this side of the world, but in Europe and Asia is a Suzuki Address. More fun then my car!

I personally wouldn't let Wayne touch my bike with a 10 ft pole but that's just me. For anyone interested/curious:

Its a little different than the scooters you guys are talking about but for many years I rode and fixed up vintage Italian scooters (Vespa and Lambretta). They were super fun bikes (when they ran) but sadly I sold my last one off a few years back...sigh...kind of miss cruising around on them.

Eric, I bought a Super 9 last year. If you think it's fun now, kit it up and then try it out.

Oh yeah, and I'll reiterate what clsmooth says about going to scooter.

tmr: what color is your super 9? i picked up a blue one, was out of every 20, probably 2 of them is blue, 6 of them is red, 12 of them is orange...

but i have already met another blue super 9 owner, i wonder how many more out there..

what mod have u done? DIY?

i have been to scooter once, i didn't have a really good impression...but isn't he the only one in town who does have more knowledge on modifying scooters? i might only get parts from him but umm...

Eric, I have a blue one.

Get a powerpack and be done with it. Install is easy, tuning is a PITA.

I used to, I'm in Van now, but I got out to Abby almost every week to see the folks. With the car parked that gets done on the scooter! This week that's getting done Thursday; tomorrow.

I have a rally car, so I figured I should get a rally scooter!
http://www.hyosung.ca/showroom/rally/rally.php

A Yamaha BWs also has knobby tires, you can do anything to those. Honda makes a Ruckus with Knobby tires, but it's 4-stroke and not alot of people are happy with em. One guy modded his Ruckus all he could, and top speed went from 58 to 62?

Some say this is photochopped, but it's still cool I think

clsmooth: u meant ur car is getting done or ur scooter is getting done?

yeah i checked out your scooter's spec, it's pretty cool...but i kinda want a higher top speed (as i carry my gf out a lot of time)...that's why i got a super 9 now (also i love front and rear disc brakes)

u know a guy actually got a JET engine onto his ruckus? can go 120kph and flame goes like 10 feet...i think that's cool lolz

but with drum brakes...umm

Ya, most scooters like mine come restricted when you buy em, why? I dunno. Top speed restricted was 48 km/h. De-restricted it as soon as I got home, despite the warranty, and top speed went to 62. I got an exhaust for it and top speed is now 72. I found a manufacturer in Italy that makes more parts for my bike, so I'll be making a fairly big order with them soon.

Yup, that's how most people with a Ruckus get speed out of it, another engine.

the ruckus actually kept it's original engine...JET engine was only used for 60 to 120...

i have been thinking about upgrading the exhaust...cuz have to find a proper sized jet...tranny has to upgrade etc etc
