Just went to the dealer today to pick up my black WRX.... Looking at it closely i noticed a whole bunch of scratches all over the car from the detailing they must have done with the buffer.. Make a long story short they are going to buff them out and get everything clean looking again... Do people have a lot of experience with this happening with the black??? What is the best wax/wash/clothe that i can get for this car so that i dont have to worry about everything looking all scratchey???
Thanks a lot for the help!!! Rob

My car has the same thing only not very noticable... I use Meguires softwash gel with a sponge with very small holes... I also only use Meguires carnuva wax if the car needs a wax... I find this works really well..but thats just my opinion

Dude, there are sooo many posts about this very subject (detailing) with lots of information. Look for the Search button at the top, click it, use it, be one with knowledge.
However, I try to be helpful. Here are a few interesting threads to start you off, including waxes, polishes, wheel cleaners, colors, swirls, etc.http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=120213 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=121549 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=121320 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=114943 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=112497 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...threadid=82589 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=111816 http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=105376 My personal opinion is: a) Use Zaino, a polymer based wax/polish for your paint. Their Z-5 product helps to hide swirls and scratches. If the scratches are really bad, you can try 3M Swirl Mark Remover. If that does not work, you can move up to 3M Perfect It III Machine Glaze. www.zainobros.com b) Zaino also has excellent products to wash your car, protect your leather, vinyl, and tires. The Zaino Tire Gloss is sooo good. c) Einmann Fabrik Hi-Intensity Cleaner for tires + rims. Spray, wipe, hose off. www.properautocare.com d) 100% USA made Cotton towels to remove the Zaino Polish. e) Microfiber towels for everything else -- quick detailing your paint, cleaning the windows, dusting the dash, seats, anything else. MF Towels are the best. www.yosteve.com offers MF towels at very low prices. f) www.autopia-forums.com is the best resource for all your detailing questions. That is all. ![]() /mel ![]() P.S. Oh, and I'd never let any dealer touch my paint. Yuck! |
