Default Smash&Grab

I got my car broken into last night on granville/helmlecken(SP?)
I was on a fashion shoot from 5-10 and came back to my car to see my rear passenger window smashed, fusebox ripped out and $4-500 of stuff missing..
Stupid vancouver and having a high smash/grab frequency rate.

The idiots who broke in went through the car, took my cds and the change in my cup holder but didnt take the $10 in my arm rest pocket and thankfully didnt find a gift i had in my trunk in the spare wheel..

Commiserations...Any body/interior damage, or "just" the window?

^^ nope, NOTHING was visible in the car, well maybe one of those free drink cards from bean around the world..

no body damage, which is good.
the only interior damage is a tiny little scrape on the door panel from the glass falling into the car.

sucks to hear that!

same thing happened to my dad a while ago with our legacy... except my dad caught the guy in the act and he booked it before he could get to the goods in the back... he did get away with the digi cam and our change though...

and make sure you get a good glass place to fix it for you... the legacy just got taken to speedy glass and they screwed it up... the thing whistles unless you got the window rolled down an ever so slight amount... and when they put it back together the door panel fell off...

when people take your stuff i wonder if they realize that they aren't taking 'things' they are taking days (weeks?) away from your life because of the $$$...

asshats...

Damn. That sucks man!
I swear. . . car's should have newly equipped theft deterrent systems that actually do something or harm the criminal trying to break into your car.

Instead of that ' electricution shocking club' on the steering wheel, the car itself (using the car's battery or a secondary battery) should send an electric shock once the individual smahes the window, or pryes open the door; thereby, stunning the crook!

That would be the day

hey, it's vancouver. they don't care how much money they get, all they care about is how they'll get their next fix. if it takes them 20 cars to get $20, they'll do it.

I think we should get bonus points for running over drug dealers..
