Question RA gears install

I wanted to know if anyone on here who has done the RA install knows if anything extra is needed. My set is going to be here next week and I need to konw the parts i need that do not come with the kit.

I already have the part numbers for the gasket case, oil seans, and O rings that are needed. Do I need to order new shims or do they come with the RAs? So pretty much just like i first said, what is not included with the gears?

also the part numbers for 2nd gear synchro and bearing would be much appreciated.

i ordered mine from world one. I did not get them cryo'd and micro polished. After talking to them they have had the same fail rate on cryo'd and non cryo'd sets, and that has only been 1 set and it was due to a manufacturing defect. they were great to work with and i paid 1450 shipped. noone has the gears in stock but worldone is getting them at the end of this week so i will have them by the end of next. and since i blew my 2nd gear i gotta get back on the road asap.

I've installed a set. We had to get a different 5th gear bearing race and the set came with a different shift rod. I believe it was because we were putting them into an rs box.

well it comes with no gear bearings youll want that for new... make sure when your put the gears back into place that you dont bend the thin little shims....also i had to get a little wider gasket for the middle section of the tranny so the gears would not get bound up.....for the rear diff...hit me up if you run into any problems i just did my ra gears set

How much did you pay for the gear kit? I blew my 2nd gear couple weeks ago and ordered the R/A gear kit from Rallispec ($1600) Whats cryo'd and micro polished? Im going to have East Coast Swappers install it for me.

Cryo freezing is a stress relieving process for the gears. They take the gears to sub zero temperatures an then slowly bring the temp back up.. Micro polishing is a fine mirror polish to the gears. Less heat transfer, no break in time. Figure you need something stronger might as well do everything possible before you put the gears in. I also heard about shot peening but I havnt seen any shops offering that. Most only cryo. Ask ralli spec about the micro polish they can have it done an so can world one.
