Angry Dar Dent

Grr... my car was only 4 days old when I noticed a huge dent the size of a dime on my passenger side door. Why don't people pay attention when opening doors in a parking lot? I need one of those handicap parking signs.

It shows up so badly too against my new Blue Ridge Pearl paint. People have been noticing it at NIGHT.

Anyways, just wondering if anybody can refer me to a good bodyshop in the Vancouver area. I'm so afraid that the new paint wouldn't match the rest of the car.

Thumbs up

I recommend Dentique the invisible dent repair people. The result is amazing. No painting and it's completely gone. If you want to see before and after shots, send me an email (pdp@k2.co.uk).

The guy in Vancouver works out of his van. I think he's based around White Rock (Marvin Tel: 604 619 1347).

HAHA........
you should see my car!
I have 5 dents in my passenger side door, 1 in my driver side door, paint chips all over the car and to top it all off, my door pinched the fender the other day creasing the metal and taking the paint off of the door and the fender. So don't feel too bad, you could be me.

PS. Rally Blue paint should be called Swirlly Blue.

Check out Dents Unlimited -- they do paintless dent removals as well. You can find them in the phone book.

Question

OOOPS! Just realized I name the topic "Dar Dent" instead of "Door Dent"... heheh... was I THAT mad?

How does this invisible dent stuff work? Can someone explain it to me?

I'm probably going through ICBC and the deductible is $100, so if the invisible dent method is just as good and less than $100, than I'm going with it.

I had just one to remove an it took very little time. Once they get setup it's easy (with the right tools). Basically, they just massage the panel back from the other side with gentle pressure.

If you get out the magnifying glass you just might be able to see a slight fold in the paint layer.

The last thing you want to do is start repainting a panel. In 2-3 years it will show.

Smile

He charges only for his time. Depends on ease of access as he needs to get behind the dent from the inside. For doors, he just winds the window down.

Took about 20 minutes to do my one in the door. The links below show the before and after. The reflection of the straight line is used to magnify the dent so that when the line becomes straight again the dent is really gone.

It costed me about 74 bucks including tax to get my fender ding out. Took about 30-45 minutes for the guy to get it out.

Petrie: Wow... thanks for the pictures and info! Now I'm convinced.

Penphoe: Thanks for the link. If it's only $75 then I'm going to definetly do it. Better (and cheaper) than going through ICBC.
