Default Tucson AutoX. One word: Cold!

Well, since Geren wasn't around, i guess i have to report on the autocross today. =]

It was friggin' cold out there Mr. Bigglesworth!

There was ice on the surface when we arrived, and during my first several runs. I did manage to stay ahead of everyone by a second or two in the first run group though. Drifting thru almost every turn, it was an AWD car's playground. Wooo!!!!

The surface warmed up a bit as the day went on, so there was actually some traction for the second two run groups. That means i got spanked by about 4 seconds, hehe. Don't care though, i had a blast.

Note that there was still not a lot of traction, as demonstrated by my brother, driving my car in the last run group (the car is travelling right to left, perpendicular to the "proper" racing line)...

There was also one blue WRX that ran, and a black RS that didn't. I didn't get a chance to talk to either of them though.

Awesome. Wish I could have made it, I love driving like that. Is that where they are always held?

Well, it would have been really nice, expect he ended up facing backwards about a second later. =\ How embarassing for me as a Scooby owner, hehe.

SIR is where they're always held (Houghton exit off I-10, go south to the fairgrounds), it's normally a decent course. The traction is never really great, but it was exceptionally non-existent this weekend, due to the wet and cold. There's usually just enough grip to make drifting not feasible on most of the course (unless you're looking to tear up some tires, Ron. =]).

There's no event for January scheduled yet, i guess SIR scheduled too much other stuff all month.

Do tell... I had a good drive recently myself. Maybe we should start a new thread...
