Post Big Meet in Washington!

Ok, I'm sure you all know about this and all, but I just thought I would remind all you guys that 1 person at least from Canada better come down here. Why you ask? Because I came up to your last one, so you have to come to mine right? SO how many of you guys are comming down? If you want directions go check out the NW section. Oh yea it's this Sunday.

One more thing I didn't mention, this will be closer to the border, then my house is. What does that mean? You won't have to drive as far as I did. Just another reason to see you all there.

I might go down. I'll have been up early for the Grand Prix so no problem with leaving on time. There's a big software release I'm involved with on Tuesday and things just might get desperate towards the weekend.

(event coordinator here)

Just to let you canadians know (heh... je ne suis pas canadien!), anyway.... If you don't have the ability to bring US dollars, we WILL accept canadian currency (cash only). However, since it's $8 CDN per person, it's to your advantange to bring US dollars ($5 USD/person)

Ethen, about how long do you estimate the trip to take from the border?

Ken/Petrie, when/where do you want to meet up? (If you can make it out)

From West Van, I usually go via the Massey tunnel. You guys probably know the best places to meet, just let me know.

I won't be able to go but here is somewhere where you can get the directions.

There's a link where you can type in a starting location and it'll find a route for you -- it even works from Vancouver B.C. too! When I typed in Vancouver for a starting point, it gave the directions to the park and gave an ETA of just under 2 hours.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

Honestly I can never remember how long it takes to get up to the border, but I'd bet that from Downtown Van., two hours. Probably the way you guys drive, 1.5 hours. The longest part is getting throught the guards at the border, the truth is never good enough for them!

You might want to see if the Aldergrove/Lynden crossing is open that early on Sunday. there was a whopping two-car line there when I came back from whistler. The peace arch is just ridiculous on weekends.

There's also the Blaine crossing, which is a bit farther out.

Alright, so it's Ken, Pete and I going down to the NW meet. Anyone else is welcome, just let us know ASAP!!!

As mentioned above it's USD$5.00 for the day. I will print out directions to the event so hopefully we won't get lost.

The best route is 99 to the truck crossing. There are shorter line-ups and we can get straight onto the I-5 quickly.

Peace arch is 45 min from downtown with no traffic.

Just take OAK all the way (turns into I5).

Hey Petrie, the difference between the two borders is that they both allow cars, but generally the truck crossing's lineup is smaller(99% of the time). The truck crossing is on 176th street and the peace arch is on the 99 hwy. They are about 10 blocks from each other(5 min. from my house).

Question

patr,

Do you know if someone from the place that preps your car will be at the meet on Sunday? I can take the race seats down for Steve Nowicki myself if there's someone to hand them over to.

Rudypoo and Petrie,
I just talked with Ken and we are thinking of meeting up at the Richmond Subaru dealership as it is on the way from 99 and somewhat central. I have a map of how to get to the NW meet. The time estimated was about 1.5 hours. I think will take us about another 30-45 min to get to the border and cross. So as added safety (and following all posted speed limits ) we are thinking of meeting at 830am. If anyone has any other ideas of suggestions let us know ASAP!!
