At the Track Lapping Days!!! Hosted By Speedware Motorsports

NEXT LAPPING DAY:

JUNE 21st

This is the introduction to Speedware Motorsports and a little something that we like to give back to the race community. Our lapping days are hosted at Pacific Raceway. The first date is just next week, Thursday May 10th. Pre-registration cost is $210, this includes all-day open lapping and catered lunch. Cost on day of the event is $275 pending vacant spots in the run groups. 2 or 3 run groups per day, capped at 25 cars per run group.

Average seat time is roughly 2.5 hours, equaling around 70+ laps. This is a non-timed event, meant for improving high-speed driving skills and test and tune. This is designed for intermediate, advanced, and full race prep driving. No instructors are provided, so those beginning drivers will need instructors with them. Prior experience is strongly recommended/required.

To register follow this link.....--------> Registration!!

Please feel free to post questions on this thread. Call Nick at Speedware Motorsports for more info as well (425) 296-5188.

Awesome, can't wait to see you out there. If not this one, later this summer. Good luck with the "Zero" tune.

Jim,

You questions are valid.

Production vehicles are allowed. Modifications are allowed and encouraged. As far as safety requirements, cages, harnesses, r-compound tires, etc....no such requirements.

Helmet requirements are SA 2000 or SA 2005. Closed face helmets are recommended. Open face helmets are allowed. Any fire safety apparel is recommended but not required.

Course workers are provided by Speedware and Pacific Raceway.

Spectators are welcome for no cost and if you'd like to join us for lunch, it only cost $12.

If you find yourself itching for a ride, make sure you have a helmet with you that meets requirements and jump in with some of our advanced drivers at no cost.

I absolutely agree.......Any day at the track is a good day!

Regards,

Nick

Man, I wish I could go, but I just gave you guys all my money for that GP-5k. That and I can't afford to get instructor classes before then,

IMO, you guys should start a "buy a helmet get a lapping day" policy

me so jealous

Congrats on becoming a vendor Speedware! Unfortunately I don't have 210 to put into a track day right now, but maybe I will stop by to say hi.

Thanks guys!

"Buy a helmet, get a lapping day!" is dually noted. Something that I might put together as a special in the future.

Please stop by! Have some Bar-B-Que!

I'm sorry, but just to elaborate: is a lapping license required? I've gone through the school, but only the one day course. I know I need another half-day with an instructor to get my lapping license. Thanks!

Not required, but would be encouraged for sure! The more experience the better. This lapping day is shaping up to be fantastic. More seat time than you can handle. I'm confident that most folks will be exhausted by day's end.

Not trying to be a "Dick", just asking a reasonable question. How is this "giving something back to the racing community"? If it was free I would understand more clearly.

The IRDC puts on two High Performance Driver's Education (HPDE) schools a year and charges $250.00/student. You get four hours of classroom training on Friday evening (with dinner), then you race all day Saturday, four hours of track time with an instructor, including lunch. If you've been to the school before and just want to lap when the students are in it costs $125.00 for four hours on Saturday (with lunch).

You're charging $85.00 more than than the IRDC for lapping, and even though you charge $40.00 less than the IRDC does for their HPDC, you don't provide classroom training or an instructor.

That's because the folks that are interested in participating in our lapping days are experienced drivers and prefer not having to sit through a classroom training session before jumping on the track. The 8 hours that we have the track, cost of renting the track for the day, and insurance is what drives the cost of our lapping days. Speedware is lucky to break even once everything is said and done. IF we were in this to make money, then you might have something to question. We're merely just trying to pay for the track expenses.

So if classroom instruction is what you're looking for, then Speedware's lapping day not designed for you. But thanks for your comparison to other "Instructional" driving days.

Any other clearifying questions that I can answer for you? If you'd like to get registered just PM me or call Nick at (425) 296-5188.

Thanks again.

Actually I was comparing what you charge for a lapping day to what the IRDC charges for a lapping day. However after thinking about it that's not a fair comparision, because it isn't JUST a lapping day. The IRDC gets most of their income to cover track costs from the students. The lappers only pay half as much, but there aren't as many of them. They probably couldn't afford to pay track costs just with the income from lappers...

The next lapping day is June 21st. You should come by the track to spectate on Thursday. Get a feel for how things are run. Possibly get a ride.

So what is it that you're trying to accomplish posting in this thread? If you don't want to pay what we're asking to participate in our lapping day, fine, but don't post in my thread and push somebody elses lapping day. Shopping around for the best price is human nature, but I'm not out here to get into a pricing war over a someone's personal opinion on what my lapping day should cost. It is what it is. Take it or leave it.
