I got my v2 from speedy racer in 2 days. Wrapped them in Thermo Tec wrap from Rick (i think) from Rally Sport Direct. Then coated them in DEI (i think) silicone hi temp spray. Put em on today NO PROBLEM, NO LEAKES, and NO HISSY NOISE! They sound freakin GREAT. but my heat wrap smokes and stinks

I'm curious as to what the differences between V1 and V2 are. I saw robotic tig welds for v2. Is that the only difference? Also what sort of price can we expect for v2, or will there be no price difference? -rage |

Just ordered this header
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting to replace the stock one that was leaking on my 2.5RS and after finally getting the stock one off I found that the pas. side flange is off by 7/8 of an inch. Its definitly not close to being able to muscle it into fit. I was thinking about taking it to a shop to heat it & try & bend it so the flanges line up but I'm waiting to hear about what they can do about getting me a replacement. But in the mean time the cars sitting on jack stands with out a header till I get this straightened out. If it was my only car I'd be really pissed off & SOL for a ride till this is fixed since I had to hack the stock one off at the cat flange to get it off. After studying the pic's more, it really looks like the right side is bent in either due to inaccurate manufacturing & welds or it got bent in shipping: Last edited by SpeedDreemR; 03-03-2008 at 12:59 PM. Ouch
, that sucks. Thanks though for the heads-up. I'll probably be getting the ones from A2Rinc instead of that vendor then, they both end up being the same price. Hope you get it to work one way or another though. |

^ that's the thing with ebay headers. You got a 50/50 chance it won't fit. I bought a new set of headers off ebay, and they didn't fit for jack. So i'm disputing it on paypal.

While all the replica's are pretty much the same, I got mine from Speedyracer and they fit perfect. No muscling around at all. I think there is a better than 50% chance that there will be no issue though, no way 1 in 2 doesn't fit right.

Got the pics up there. This is the latest reply I got from the re-seller, kinda think its BS you'd have to pull one of the pipes almost an inch to get it to fit. plus the added stress that's going to be putting on the welds & flanges can't be good:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I asked an experienced customer of mine and here is his reply. He bought the exact header from me and have refered many of his friend to me. Please read the article below to help you on installation. Thank you. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// This is perfectly normal. The new headers are just a tad narrower, so what the buyer has to do is get a friend to help him. They are going to have to line up one port and gasket with the studs on the block. Then, they will have to prepare the other side to be put on (gasket on studs) and PULL....HARD! and at that point, the design of the headers will allow it to "fan" out a bit more and cover the difference. It is perfectly fine that it is like this, it means that the part will be tighter in the long run. Everyone has to do this, its just a matter of will power. So here's the summary- get a friend to help, while he lines up one side and puts it up on the studs loosely, you PULL and stretch the header ports apart, and they will fit. Warning- the header will pop up very quickly onto the block studs. Have the gasket on the studs and ready to go, and watch your fingers. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// And for the fun of it a pic of the RS as she sit's in the garage anxiously waiting to get back on the road: Last edited by SpeedDreemR; 03-05-2008 at 11:08 AM. |

So did they hold up ok once they were on? Did you heat them up at all to help bend them?

scott-
Those are the headers that my supplier, peter/pc, sells. I was the one who wrote those instructions. It will work, I've done it several times. I thought the SAME thing when I was going to put mine on. You gotta get another person and use a lotta muscle. Line up one side, put one side on the studs with the gasket ready, but don't tighten it down. Then, with the help of a friend, PULL hard and the other side will pop on. If it doesn't work, an exhaust shop can do it for you for cheap. Kevin |

I put mine on yesterday from A2Ring. They fit pretty well but there was a little muscling that had to be done to get em to fit perfectly...subikid has it spot on.
You do it that way and it should match up...my bf and a friend (PAIN on here) helped me out. They muscled the headers in to place is it was good to go. The biggest pain is getting the stock bolts off...that should really be the only problem. Def +1 for A2Ring. Thanks guys |
