Wow are you ever wrong... if all that matters is my driving record when it comes to my insurance payment then why is a WRX wagon so much cheaper to insure than a WRX sedan? Because fewer people are crashing them, that's why...

In the end what affects YOUR premiums? My driving record or yours? There are so many factors that insurance companies use to dictate policy rates its mind boggling (age, sex, history, state, city, color, style, miles driven early, tickets and so on and so on). Quit bitching about other people driving up your insurance rate, its not anyones problem but yours. Why dont you blame everyone in your age group that gets into accidents? Or how about bitching to everyone in your state for driving up your rates by getting into accidents.

For your information Tim my best friend works for Geico as a claims investigator and he told me that insurance rates are so high due mainly to faulty injury claims (and most of these accidents happen in streets not highways). Anyway, I live in NYC dude...don't talk to me about high rates...I've never been into an accident and I pay $3300 a year for my car.

BTW: Wagons are always cheaper than sedans because wagons are not as easily labeled as sports cars.

Is this a free country? The anti cigarette campagne used the same thinly disguised justification for crapping on smoking Americans rights. Any way you justify that attitude it is Tyrrany.

Alright so go to your local junior college and yell at everyone whos gotten into an accident. Tell them they better slow down and drive safer or else you will be really pissed that they keep making your insurance go up.

I think i read a statistic somewhere that more than 60% of auto accidents aernt actually cause by people going too fast. They are caused by people going too slow. Which makes sense, who is paying more attention to the road? The person casually going 40 MPH down the freeway or the person that is going 80 or 90 MPH? I would like to think the person going 80 or 90 is paying a **** load more attention to whats going on than the old half blind grandparent going 40.

And as far as insurance rates go its not just the people who get in accidents going too fast that effect the rates its those old people that cant see that are going too slow. So maybe you should go yell at them too. Maybe you should become a cop a write tickets to everyone who is not going exactly 65 MPH!! About 90% of your insurance rate is based on YOU! Only 10% is other drivers. I pay $2400 a year on my car, if my mom owned my car and paid the insurance she would probably be paying $500 a year!

I agree with Istepnio, where's the love?
If you don't like the insurance rates, buy a different car. don't start pointing fingers
I cruise at 75-84 on freeways if they aren't parking lots

Wow... and I thought Tim was an old fart...

5 over....tops? I think someone might be fibbing a bit. I think I'd be hard pressed to find a 23 year old who wouldn't open up a WRX a little bit on an open strech of road (wide road/no other cars etc.).

It says here New York City "New york city".........It was probobly your passenger screaming. Reminds me of my time in NY, a Cabby was flying down 5th Ave., one handed, smoking and dodging bike riders.

Old fart? :monkey:

You can ask my girlfriend if you want. I hardly break 7 over the limit. If I'm passing someone on a 2-lane road I'll wind it up a bit more, but slow down again once I'm past. Going fast in a straight line doesn't do much for me, sorry.

I'm not saying that I'm cool or anything because I haul ass on the freeway, but you guys sound like a bunch of whiney mothers. Give me a freakin break. I agree that most people who care about their cars enough to be posting on this board are paying attention when they drive. A cruise at 90 to 95 on the Freeway or quick jaunts to triple digits on back roads where no one else is cruising isn't going to kill as many people as old farts on cell phones not even going the damn speed limit. You guys need to lighten up about the speed issue. If you only drive 5 to 7 miles an hour over the speed limit let me know when you want to sell the thing because it wont even be broken in yet.

Whiney? Who's the one digging up dead topics just so that he can complain more?

I autocrossed 6 or 7 times this summer... and I've got over 14,000 miles on my WRX. You can be sure it's well broken in.
