Default TDC Tuning RR500 TUNED STI

Results are in this weekend I spent almost all day with Mike from up at TDC Tuning in NH.. Let me tell you was great experience and alot of fun..

Results:
05 sti
Helix RR500 turbo
perrin fmic
Tail BOV
perring Big Maf
740cc injectors
invidia downpipe
HKS cat back

PSI: 22 tapering to 18 at redline
HP: 320
TQ: 360 at 3700rpm

Dyno used is Dynomite dyno, though many may feel numbers are low dyno is very accurate and reads lower then the usual dynojets and mustang dynos...
The car pulls great, and is very smooth.. Im sure Mike could of pushed even more out of the car but like I said I had been there all day and the car had been through many dyno runs already and we were both happy with where the car was at for now..

I highly recommend going there for either a tune or even a dyno day which they are always holding..

I was waiting to see how the RR500 did out in consumers hands. I am on the fence about the TDC dyno (no drama here, don't worry). I have been tuned on it a couple times (by Jon). First was in my old 02 WRX with a VF39. Before I got tuned and had the turbo installed, I dynoed 238hp/239tq with an OTS Cobb stage 2 map. I thought it was high compared to others I had seen, so I figured the dyno read a little higher than others. Last May or April the dyno got recalibrated because something had broken on it, and was supposedly reading lower than usual afterwards. I got my STi tuned with alky and put down 311hp/335wtq, which I thought wasn't bad if the dyno was reading low (since I had seen so many alky setups with a good bit more than that, esp. torque). Someone from the TDC dyno day this weekend just said on their bugeye they put down 240whp/239wtq on the dyno... which leads me to believe it isn't reading low anymore? It's hard to tell. Either way, the torque you have comes in early and I bet is a blast - congrats... I miss that.

i usually add or subract ~20 whp for people's setups...it ends up either making a lot more sense or showing that a dyno is programmed to make one smile and some dynos have to much load on them(low numbers) and a road tune is needed!

Yea, I was hoping for more hp from this turbo.. and it def feels like it just wants to put out so much more... i will post in the future if i go on another dyno just to see a comparison. I think mike said the stock sti put out 230hp and 250tq something like that dont hold me to that though.. This was the first time the car was dynoed and still has the stock intake tube so that is def holding it back aswell. all in all was great time and car is a blast, cant go wrong for 1000 dollar turbo.. which I got for even less cause my boy got one aswell..

For the cost of that turbo... the numbers sound just fine... I mean it's like $999 or something...

But for the hype it was bringing, it doesn't seem like anything special, and the dyno won't tell about it's longevity...

I would like to see the curve if you have the dyno sheet.

My car has actually been on TDC's dyno before.

Last June in about 90 degree weather outside and about 100degree weather in the dyno room my car put down almost 320whp but I forget the torque.

This was with a fp20gtdo58cm oil cooled only and stock tmic. I believe boost was at 21 or 22psi if I remember correctly.

was that your numbers from the TDC dyno day with the new setup? You made like 360 or sumtin someone said at DSG for your tune right?

something is fishy.....if anything TDC should have read slightly higher than the DSG numbers.....

someone needs to post results for this turbo on a REAL dyno, not one whose numbers change constantly
