Also, I have a ground on the original harness coming from the car, a ground on the subaru harness I bought, and a ground with the c clamp on tthe aftermarket deck. Not sure what to do here, any thoughts or ideas?

Can I cut the c clamp thing off, strip wire and connect the blacks from subaru to aftermarket, and just use the one that was connected to factory mounting bracket?

Rally Stuff Aftermarket deck install in an 03 WRX wagon.

I should have read your post sooner, because I did in fact cut off my factory harness, but I have replaced it. Although I have replaced it I have no power to the new head unit even with the aftermarket adapter installed and wired up. But that's not all, I have lost power to my interior lights, security system/key fob receiver, and the memory power to my odometer when the ignition is off.

I am currently in the process of installing a ported box with 2 Alpine E's 10" subwoofers in the hatch area with a 1000W amp and 2 Farad Capacitor mounted to it. I have all the wires ran and have made 2 new grounds where the spare tire bowl is under the access area. Currently I have put the charging of the capacitor until the other power issues are corrected.

Does anyone have any insight to this happening to them all at the same time of install? It would be most appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I cannot get even the original 6 CD changer deck to power either if I switch it over.

Rally Stuff Update

Update to my situation: I have power back to my map lights, Key fob/security, and odometer memory when the key is off. Unfortunately cannot get my dome lights, dash clock, and radio/head unit power up. I'm assuming the latter 2 are ignition based but not so much the dome. Any insight?

Last night I installed the HU receiver above but this morning when I turned my headlights on the screen goes blue and the radio volumes goes to near zero. I then cannot increase the volume nor control the receiver in any way (just a blue screen). I wonder if you can help out. I used the appropriate harness, but if I leave off the orange wire (backup camera) would that solve the issue? I don't have a backup camera but the blue screen that comes on when the headlights show says something about the AV input or the backup camera.

Also I connected the pink (parking brake) wire to ground so the DVD player would work. Is this a grounding issue because the unit works great until the headlights come on?

How do I get the headlights not to turn the stereo off?

Please assist.

Here is what I installed:

The BOSS Tech dept got back to me in less than 8 hours! Here is there response.

If you do not have a back up camera connect to the unit then just disconnect the orange wire and that will fix your problem. Its seems that you have it connected to an illumination and that why it trigger only when the lights come on.
