Default FMIC & warranty

How do you guys think SOA feels about a front mount IC and warranty?

they laughed at me when i tried to get a rod bearing warrantied on my 05 at 23k miles even though it wasn't heavily abused and is a common issue with the ej20 (search for spun bearings and you'll find way too many). i guess it depends on the dealer as well.

If any engine warranty claims came up, be prepared to be denied. If you had a problem with a strut or a headlight, it would still be covered. I can't believe this question still gets asked.

The only way to be less stealthy would be to have a Roots blower sticking out of the hood, so I'd say no.

Removing your front bumper supports is cool! Especially in head on collisions.

hey now. nothing wrong with that! hell, i was at the track wed night, and a guy there had a 94 civic hatch w/ a 400ci smallblock wedged in the engine bay.

civics look funny when theres an air cleaner sticking out of the hood, and ~ 30" of tire viewable from the back.

yeah... you walk in with a FMIC and look for warranty work... uh expect to find your complete powertrain coverage greatly restricted.

you mean to ask, what does SOA think about warranty?

now that you mentioned aftermarket parts and warranty, your screwed. (those 2 words don't co-exist)

They will fix certain things....but if they can relate ANYTHING back to the FMIC (pretty much everything that is power/drive train) then they most likely wont do anything for you....

Now if your passenger side power window stops working, then they will cover that...

I'm pretty sure if you put a FMIC on and went in to get any problems fixed Subaru could surely fine a way to blame it on the I/C. They have blamed problems on worse....

haha when they popped my hood the guy asked me what all the silver piping was. He also wondered what the thing on top of my ECU was (utec). haha it was funny and when i said it was an front mount intercooler and a piggy back ECU he asked me what the intercooler was and what piggy back meant. haha. needles to say no coverage was given...
