Thumbs up UK spec seats from AVsports!!!!

I got my seats from www.alternatinvevehicles.com on Friday after ordering them on Monday! They came in a VEDRY well packed box and were delivered to me by Motorcargo on a full pallet. The shipping cost me $151 from Tempe, AZ to Tacoma, WA. I dealt with Wayne from AV sports, and he was probably the nicest guy in the Subaru world!!!! He actually called me back numerous times just to make sure that all was well with my shipping info and CC#. I installed the seats immedialty and contrary to what they posted, for these seats to fit into a 2000 RS the bases DO NOT need to be switched!!!! The only mod that had to me made was to the Female end of the seatbelts!! The WRX Female end did not MATE (LOL) with the Male end of my RS, so I had to transfer my stock Female end to the new seats. No big deal!!! Anyways, install took about 30-45 minutes and then the best part came!!!! I drove around in theses things at 10 10ths and they really hold you good! I feel like I'm constantly being hugged and I go nowhere but where i point the car! I highly recommed you guys deal with these guys! They can get any STI part and have proved that their prices are superior to other distributors!!! Any questions about the seats just PM or email me!

Any word on how these seats would work with a 3-point harness?

Hey Adam, I just got a set of these seats yesterday, and I love them! One thing though, did you notice that they feel like they sit about an inch or more higher? I have the height adjuster all the way down and I feel a bit higher than the stock RS seats. Any ideas on how to make them a bit lower? Would the stock RS seat brackets lower me? Thanks for any ideas.

Happy Holidays!
Jim

I got mine too. Totally love them and have nothing but good comments for AV sports!

They do sit a little higher than the WRX seat and I have tried them with my sparco 5 point harness (3") and they work fine, so a 3 point "street" harness will be no problem.

I am still working on a fix for the airbag light. I spoke to a subaru mechanic and he said when you remove the stock seats and the aribag light comes on you disable the entire system. Also my uncle works at a body shop and was going to ask the airbag guy about how to jump the old seat harness to enable the front airbags. I have heard you can put a 3 ohm resistor in and that will fix it but I ohmed out the seat and it doesn't have any resistance. So maybe just jumping out the harness will do it but I want to make sure before I do. I may run to Radio Shack and buy some resistors and give that a try.
