Default GT Plastic Headlight Lens

My 97 Legacy GT has plastic headlight lenses and I was wondering if the 98's or 99's are glass? The reason I'm asking is that my Dad's Forester Headlight Lenses are glass and the lights are alot brighter. Besides the fact the the light housing is bigger, it seems to be because the plastic lens gets scuffed pretty quick.

If they are glass, has anybody ever done a swap? I think the 97's are one piece, but the 98/99's are two piece if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks!

Chris.

Actually I am told the '97 Legacys have much brighter lights then the '99s. My '99 Legacys lights aren't especially bright.

97-99 Legacy all use PLASTIC lenses. Much better then glass which is easily shattered. You can purchase special protective plastic film that will fit over your lenses and prevent them from scratching.

People say that the 97 are brighter than the 98-99 lights. My 97 lights sucked. Thats why I got the Morretes. The price of the factory Forester lights are going to cost as much if not more than a set of Morretes.

oooh... i wasn't suggesting that I wanted to try and put Forester Headlights in, just newer Legacy ones if they were brighter.

But that would be quite a project wouldn't it? You would need a whole new front end to integrate those suckers. Photoshop anybody?

Chris.
