Default Graphic Persuasion: British Car-Safety PSA

LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJE3OuZdnDM

A British PSA from DOE [Department of Energy] UK. This ad is pretty gruesome/gnarly/graphic at every turn. The runtime on the clip is only 00.59, but its like a f'ing horror movie! A total bummer, but that's life. Def. should have things like this on American television, but that'll never happen.

Note the white horse in the begining of the clip: creeeeepy.

Maybe NSFW, but more like NSFWS [not safe for weak stomachs]

ENJOY!!

I thinks its good. In fact, I think everyone in the US needs to see this. Most people wont care, but maybe some will actually allow it to sink in.

And its not THAT graphic.

Agreed, and if they wanted to even cut out the scene of her looking in the car after its hit them, it would still be more powerful than any ad we'd come up with.

It should air as is, but even mildly edited would be better than nothing.

We also need some about the elderly, just recreate real accidents they've had using modern movie magic.

and street racing. two punks having an ego contest, car w/ family inside is laughing having fun. They pull out from side street...ricers nail them on the side and eject the children from the car. Dad is dead, mother is bloodied and trying to collect her children from the street. etc so forth.

like the soccer game/landmine movie. That really got to me.

No, this is America. We need a video of a woman in an SUV yelling at her kids in the backseat.... a man in a BMW talking on his cellphone while looking at his GPS... a teenage girl in a VW bug doing her makeup in her mirror with the radio blaring.... and two kids street racing. They'd all come in from 4 different sides of an intersection and strike a family standing squarely in the middle.

That's America.

...and unfortuantely all of the above examples would not stop anybody from driving the way that they do. People are ignorant, that is all.

It’s actually N.Ireland DOE (Department of Environment) Commercial. Talked to my cousin this weekend in N,Ireland, and they have been trying to get it of the air there too. Guess it’s too graphic from them to. I bet it won’t slow them down though.

We need more PSAs comparing drunk drivers to the very elderly drivers (who are statistically very similar from what I've read).

Minus the family in the middle, that sounds like an awesome saturday afternoon time waster. Would be fun to watch.

but people would chalk that scenario up to "not being real" and not get the point.
