Question Subaru emblem (stars)

When did Subaru change their logo from the old logo with 4 small stars on the right of the big one, and the other small star on the left of it, to the current one with all 5 small stars to the right of the big one? And why...just curious

I don't suppose you have any images? I'm not familiar with the older one you reference.

hmm, I guess the old one looks a lot more like the actual constellation, the new one looks more like a polished corporate logo.

Default suspiciously close to who god is

The current Subaru logo with the one large star and the 5 smaller stars MAY mean something symbolic.

For example, E Pluribus Unum: from one, many (very Pythagorean also).

God of the bible, Qu'ran, ancient mesopotamian, Greek, pagan, is an exploded planet (I've come to discover this after a long, arduous 11 year search).

Thus, when I saw the current Subaru logo, I thought it could represent the knowledge that god (the large star) gave birth to meteorites (sons of gods a.la. Jesus, Muhammed, Moses). Awfully suspicious. Someone at Subaru may know something.

"SUBARU" is a Japanese word meaning "unite," as well as a term identifying a cluster of six stars which the Greeks called the Pleiades.....part of the Taurus constellation. According to Greek mythology, Atlas' daughters turned into this group of stars.

I picked up some of the old-style emblems on eBay, and I'm going to be replacing the grill badge with one of the old-style ones, should be pretty unique. Just gotta figure out the best way to do it, as the old one is a bit bigger than the new one. And it looks to me like they took the original one and cleaned it up into a nice, sterile corporate logo.

I thought the small stars represented the five companies that came together to form Subaru, and the one large one represented Subaru. Then the Subaru = unite, Subaru = constellation reference, and the symbolic stars all fit together with dual or triple meanings for the stars (company components and constellation components), name (companies uniting, stars uniting to form Pleiades), and merger event (the small companies combined to form one larger than themselves, just like the small stars combine to form something larger than themselves). Now I've confused myself... this is too much like an english class .

One to grow on, huh? On a side note, I think Subaru has the coolest emblem of most domestic and imports. Very nice.
