LOVE the shots Ste! The only thing I can nit pick about is I would have removed that hideous front plate for the first picture

I'm pretty sure I can see a beam's reflection in the windshield in the first rig shot of STE's. Loving the 2nd shot though!

Fix the boom reflection, change the streaks to dayglow green, and you've got yourself a Monster ad.

So finally I was able to edit one of my shots... Again, night time, although Tamron performed pretty well this time. One thing I regret is not shooting and removing reflections from the side. I was going for this whole "white background studio" look.

First thing that grabs my eye in that shot, is the blown out portion of the passenger rear quarter panel... Hows saving for the 70-200 VR coming?

That's true. Well, the lighting wasn't perfect and I didn't use any strobes... just wish I used a CPL on the side. Oh well, I'm still satisfied with how this came out considering the conditions. As far as the 70-200 VR is concerned, I have the money I could spend on it... but I just moved and want to get a job first before I start blowing through money. So maybe sometime in the future.

This one isn't anything too crazy, but thought it would be worth posting. I took this while driving (yes, driving and shooting) at 1/30th. Hence why it's not 100% sharp.

This one was on one of the canyon roads in Azusa, CA. Any criticism welcome.

I'm not good at giving critics, but you framed too much empty space in the road/ground. I prefer more skies in a still shot

Not to be a jerk, but there is more commonality between the road and the car than the car and the sky. I think that the photographer was somewhat using the rule of thirds and has a nicely composed picture. Makes me want to go and drive a 300zx.

I guess everyone has different wants in a picture.

Thanks for the input guys! The sky was very bland and came out just white, so I chose to go with the road. As mentioned before, the road ties with the car better IMO and I also tried using leading lines on both sides of the car leading to the subject. I took this with my friend's D700 btw... Such a nice camera!

thats not rule of thirds.. more like rule of halves... there's way too much empty space in the picture.. kinda distracts me...

and I'm not really a fan with bokeh in car photos (don't hate me visualsechos)!

^ i agree with this statement. certainly, i love sky and clouds also, but especially in SoCal. we dont get a lot of nice sky cloud coverage and it makes photos more boring when its just a big lump of blue (or white)

so the decision that was made here, was a good one. in no way do i find the bokeh and empty space as a distraction... if anything, it draws more attention to the car, which is the one thing in actual focus here. great shot if you ask me.

^ The center of the object is positioned at the intersection of the thirds. It does appear like there's a lot of pavement before the car though, so I see where you're coming from.

Thanks Andy!

I wish we put the T-Tops back on... that bugs me a little.

I LOVE the photo. The bokeh and negative space serves to bring me into the car. Sexy bokeh and sexy car = win. Plus the post production is great - nice warm tones. Killer all around. Jag approved.
