And this one is neat, albeit out of focus.

This one is pretty good too! No need to worry about the windshield not being sharp...as long as you've got clear sharpness on the car somewhere near the front (such as, not just having the corner of a headlight sharp) then you're in good shape. It's also just going to depend on the position of the car as well. As for smoke, not much you can do about that if you want to keep it all natural.

Here are a few others I like, granted none are breathtakingly composed and mostly shot on the fly.

Pretty good stuff considering the circumstances. Event coverage is always a bit tough to judge, so long as you're just not taking everything from standing eye level.

OK thanks! I guess it's me being overly picky. I'm still working on some but here's a few more. I feel that I can only frame them one way to get the feeling that the car is going sideways across the frame. Any tips?

Good stuff. I watched the race on tv and wondered if you'd be there.

There is a lot technically wrong with this picture...but that said...I love it. It just speaks to me and my love of racing and the fans associated with it. It also helps that my good friend is behind the wheel of the #59. I honestly believe that there are certain images that break the traditional rules of photography that speak to you. This is one of those for me. I hope you guys like it as well.

Canon 1.4 vs. Sigma 1.4. The Canon isn't the L series either.

Yeah I looked into it. I'll probably wait and upgrade when the full version is out. The new clone brush should be cool. I still wish they would introduce multiple layer ability.

Had a local car club meet/photo shoot last night. This is one of my faves

Most of the shots were taken leaning out of my passanger window. Took almost 500 shots. Lots of blurry ones. This was my first real attempt at rolling shot (where everyone stuck around for long enough for me to get some practice in anyway.)

T2i - 1/30 - f11 - ISO 100 - 16x35 @ 19mm - Raw conversion

1/100th - f3.5 - 16mm

I'm still learning how to use a wide angle lens properly so I am still getting some distortion. Is there anything I should change to improve composition?

These are all quite good! You're not giving yourself enough credit You're right about framing them only in certain ways, but you can get creative with your crops and break the rules a little bit. For example, here's one from last weekend that has a 16:9 crop and some different processing than I usually do:

Don't forget to go wide too. It can really change the perspective, especially if you shoot at a really slow shutter speed. This one was shot at 35mm on full frame at 1/20 sec, just like the one above:

Love the shift knob pic! I kinda wish that there was a little less space on the right side of the frame, but it's damn sharp and is a good example of an interior detail shot. The exterior shot is composed nicely, but it looks like the hood is starting to get blown out just a little bit.

Very nice! Love that lens. I'd be curious to see a version with the horizon straight, and if you want to get real ambitious, try removing the parking lines

This one is exceptionally good to me. You're totally right about breaking the rules, and I just like how blurry the crowd is compared to how sharp the car is. It really captures the moment really well and still maintains focus on the car as the subject. Nice work, a stamp well deserved!
