What are you looking to buy? It depends on what you are after. The tirerack.com has some great buys on tires because of the volume they do and the stock thye have on hand. Even with the exchange, you can still come out ahead.

For example, you can get the 225/50ZR16 BFGoodrich Comp T/A R1 Rain tire for $59 each because they say they have been in stock for a couple of years.

Other stuff is hard to get in Canada anyhow, so it may just come down to local selection.

I've purchased stuff from the U.S.,Europe and here in Cdn B.C.,Que.,Ont.
If you can find it here it is better, Exchange is killer. Also if ordering from U.S. whatch the hiden costs ie. shipping, duty, taxes (pst/gst),brokerage fees
Try to have them ship US post, no brokerage fees, UPS is a killer on fees. As for companies, it all depends on what you are getting. I gotten stuff from Sugar, Ganz, subaruparts.com,and some other private stuff.
Try the Toronto club lots of mods on lots of cars.

I've dealt with PDM Racing (http://www.pdm-racing.com) in BC, and the following down in the states, all with good results:

Cobb Tuning (http://www.cobbtuning.com)
SPO Motorsports (http://www.spomotorsports.com)
SPD Tuning (http://www.spdusa.com)
Rallispec (http://www.rallispec.com)

If you can get the stuff from Canada, do it. You will rarely save anything bringing it in from the states instead of getting it locally. UPS soaked me for $150 on a $1000 cdn order from the states.

I don't know how cheap they will be, but there a bunch of dealers in the Toronto area. Check out the KYB site.
