Ouch, good luck buddy as I'm of no help. I've seen heard of these going easy and going hard depending on if the judge got lucky or not the night before. PLAN on worst case though. A Navy buddy of mine did 5 days in jail, so BE SURE to let your boss know and have leave papers in hand with whoever goes to court with you just in case.

try to talk to a jag if you can. hopefully they are licensed to practice in va. all jags need to be licensed to practice SOMEWHERE but i think the nature of the military moves them around and often out of their jurisdictions.

I have a feeling that this was trying to be avioded. I can't tell you how many Airman tried to pull off the 'they'll never find out' deal. In the local area surrounding the base, I've seen it where the judge has called the CO and let them deal with it. Now there some trouble for you.

Good luck.

Try the second one down since he's former military. He may be able to work out a payment plan. And there are plenty there to go through to get a good deal. I have no idea if lawyers go on a payment plan, though most I've dealt with (not criminal lawyers) are flexible with payments.

Whip out a credit card no matter the interest rate and find a lawyer. It will be between 400-800 bucks probably. Mine was 600 for a reckless, although I wouldn't recommend him because he sent one of his cronies I had never talked to the day of the trial and the guy had no clue what was going on.

If you seriously can't afford to do that you should sell your car to pay for it, buy back your neon, and hope you don't go to jail.

I was thinking the same thing, that or dip into your savings account (if you have one).

As like everyone else stated... get a lawyer... :-( It sucks because it's a lesson learned but it is a RECKLESS... You definatly don't want a class 1 misdimenor on your record...

Lawyers are expensive unfortunaly... When I got a reckless about two years ago I was doing 95 in a 45... Very stupid... yes, lessons learned... many.

I spent all said around $2200 for lawyer fees... pisses me off cause I look back and that is a nice Status kevlar Spa Seat:-(.... but to make a long story short, my whole process was continued, extended and dragged out for about 6 months total... The officer slept through his alarm on the 3rd time I went to court and it ended up being "washed away...."

Yes my record was kept clean but I learned lessons that I think were better off learned then, than the now present and or future...

However, since yours isn't NEARLY as fast, most likely a lawyer WILL be able to get it down...

Then you'll probably be like me and not speed anymore... kinda sad when my gf is like WHY ARE YOU GOING SO SLOW... The little voice in my mind says you already used your "get out of jail card..." next time you ARE going to jail...

PS: You aren't going to jail for that speed. So don't worry about that, just be weary of the points, higher insurance rates...etc

I don't think lawyers are prone to working pro bono just because you are living beyond your means, but hey you never know I guess. Good luck.
