Post Max Wheel/Tire Size?

Got a question for you experts out there! I have a set of Yokohama AVS S/T tires from my 'now deceased' Rav4. The tire size is 255/55/R17. Anyone know if that size tire will fit on the impreza?

I'm no expert, but I don't think those are going to fit. Thats an awfully big tire in terms of sidewall height. Most 17" rims for cars run 35, 40 or 45 series tires, as opposed to the 55 of those ones.

Why not? Then you are going to have a Impreza F150 pick-up

Seriously NO!

Sure...you can do it if you want your impreza to be a pick-up just like H5N1 says. Honestly....if you put that tires and rim on....your gas price will go way up.....because your impreza is not a supra or skyline......you don't need that kind of tires.....
I think the max for impreza will be 215/40/17
or may be 18"rims........

I've seen an RS with 18-inchers at the August 22 mega-meet. It was an RS from Washington states -- had 18 inch Momo's with 35 series tires! Talk about low profile!

Anywayz, a 215-45R17 should fit our cars without any rubbing and only has a 1% error difference than our 205-55R16's. Prodrive recommends a 215-40R17 tire size, but that has about a 4% error I believe.

Personally, I would like to run 205-50R16's. Does anybody know if you can re-program the ECU to a smaller tire size?

I agree what CATA say
If you want to put that on man, please think about it first

Thanks for the input people!

Interestingly enough, the 'so-called' tire/wheels experts at Pirelli, Yokohama, Dunlop, TSW, BBS, OZ, ROH, Volco Tires, and Big-O Tires *all* claim it's possible ... strange ... most everyone I've talked to (yourselves included) all say "it's not possible" and "why bother?".

I had the Yokohama AVS S/T's on a set of ROH ZS SP (blue lip) on my Rav4 ... until that got totalled. I just figured it might be a waste to get rid of it all ... oh well ...
