I'm putting my money down. I just hate the green lights in my dash.

Who else is doing this mod?

I believe red is the best for nightvision. Blue is the worst. I believe that is one of the reasons for the crackdown on blue headlights. It takes other drivers longer to readjust to the darkness and therefore potentially hazardous. I would like to change it to red if I could!!! I don't mind the green, I just keep the intensity way down.

Actually, a few years back one of the mainstream automags did a comprehensive follow-up on why BMW had red for their interior lights. They talked to the military who did a lot of research on colors for their pilots and red is ONLY a good color if exposed to darkness for a number of hours. The fact that you have oncoming headlights and all pretty much negates any effect of the red.

Having owned a few bimmers, I can say that I prefer red, but I HATE green. Even veedub blue is better than green.

I think it will look trick, and if I don't like it, I only blew C$25.

Markus, check out the Northwest forum where Reiflex has figured out how to do this for a lot less that C$25.
