I've heard that sometimes you can rent University residences during the summer and stay there. I'm not entirely sure how to contact them but take a peek on www.mcgill.ca since their campus is pretty much downtown.

If hotel are more your taste and you want to stay in the downtown area, check expedia.ca and look for hotels on St.Catherine/Sherbrooke street. There are a few Quality Inn's and such around that are in relatively safe neighborhoods.
If I think of anyplace else I'll let you know.

I can't really help you with that. I haven't even looked into hotels or that since I am from Mtl, but if you are still having trouble, I could check for you.

Just don't forget to come and give us a shout at the Mtl. Sub. Club when you get here! hehe

I would recommend Scout's reply. I know that during the weekend of the F1, they practically have buses from every neighborhood going to the island (safety reasons).

Hello Montreal I-Club members, I need you help.

I just booked my tickets for next year's F1 in Montreal. I now need some recommendations for Hotels that are reasonably close to the course without paying a zillion dollars for a room. I'll be going with a few buddies so I need to book a couple/three rooms.

Can you please help me with this?
