Default AC dead

im not sure if the ac went in my 06 sti. it still blows cool air but nowhere near the temp it used to blow it at. should i try and add freon to to ac or take it to a shop to have them check it out. what problems could it be?

Go to a shop, unless you have the right tools and experience AC service isn't a DIY. It may be low on refrigerant, or there may be another problem. Either way it should be looked at by a professional. If it is low it's probably due to a leak which needs to be fixed.
Actually, if you have 36K or less just go to a dealer, it's under warranty.

Also, make sure that the recirculation button is on....it will take the inside air and keep cooling it, rather than taking the hot outside air and attempting to cool it.

It WILL make a difference, especially if it is humid out

i have a quick question. I punctured the thin a/c line by the firewall. tried to use jb weld but didn't work once i charged the system. could i just get an aluminum welder to plug that tiny hole up or will i have replace the line??

Seeing that is a pressure line, nothing will hold it, at least not for long. You would be better off replacing the line. it's not that expensive.
