Default Anyone looking for a sweet bike? 05 CBR 1000 RR modded

Trying to sell my 05 Titanium/Black CBR 1000 RR so I can get back into a newer Subaru. Mileage is ~3,200. The bike has many mods, the extras alone would cost you over $4,000 not to mention the cost of labor to install everything. The mods include:

- M4 slip on exhaust
- Power Commander 3
- Corbin Seat
- Speedo Healer
- Flapper Mod
- DID 520 chain with -1/+1 Renthal sprockets
- Gregg's Flushmounts
- CRG Gold Shorty Levers
- Vortex Adjustable Rearsets
- Rear Cowl
- Motovation Frame Sliders
- Braided Brake Lines front
- Rear fender eliminator kit (real nice with "RR" cut out of metal sides)
- HRC 1/6 Quick Throttle
- Penske 8987 Triple Adjustable rear shock
- GMD Computrack front shocks

I have a few of the stock parts, like the rearsets, the stock throttle, the rear seat, and a few other parts.
I also have Woodcraft front and rear stands, a bike cover and a tank bag that I will throw in with the bike.

Bike has never been down, the only blemish is to the sticker on the side (shown in one of the pictures). Tires are Pirelli Dragon Corsas which should take you through this season. This bike is stored in my basement in the winter and in my garage in the summer.

You are not going to find a much better deal than this out there. I see stock 1000RRs going for about 8k with the same mileage and with all the extras I have on the bike you are getting a great deal. Feel free to compare this to all the R1s, ZXs and GSX-Rs out there, this is the best liter bike on the market.

No lowballers and no test pilots! Call me or email me with any questions, I will either answer them or get back to you with an answer real quick. Cell: 978-478-8874

Nice bike but motorcycles don't really sell on this forum very well, unless you give it away, even when decent pics are available. You need better pics. You might want to itemize the price of the mods. Funny thing about mods is that they raise suspicion about the way the bike has been driven and about the resultant mechanical condition. Why be shy about the price if you are serious about selling it? By the way, you know that you can get a 2006 CBR1000RR right now brand new off the showroom floor for $10K, don't you, as they have been discounted just to get rid of them?

take all the decals off might improve your selling chances.

I guess I forgot the price, reason being I just copied and pasted from my craigslist thread so the price was in the headline, and not in the post itself. My bad......I have it for 9500 obo

I am sure you can get a brand new 06 for 10k, and when you spend 7,000 more to add all the things I did, you will be in debt 17,000. (or is my math off?) or you can leave it stock and see how nice my bike looks from behind.

As for the decals, they are easy to remove, if they were to hold up the sale I could easily do that for the buyer.

I know bikes don't sell well here, to tell you the truth, nothing seems to sell well here!! I have seen the same cars on the forums for months, some priced VERY well, so I don't expect much. Plus, the price of posting can't be beat

Thanks for the feedback and bumps guys, criticism duly noted and appreciated

Here is a link to Nault's Windham Honda, probably the main Honda dealer in my area.

http://www.getpowersports.com/dealer...Results_Ds.asp

2005 CBR 1000 RR with 9,115 miles for $8,499 (The 2006 models were all gone....the 2007 models say "call for pricing")

My bike, with 3,184 miles and about 7k in mods, for 9500 obo. I think I am being very fair. I am not trying to break the bank, someone can make a reasonable offer and they can have a great bike for a good deal

I can assure you I am not trying to bust anyone's chops, I have been on this site for a while and I love the Subaru community, I just want to make sure people know that the value is there and I am not trying to screw anyone.

If I am wrong, I am sure Pete will slap my p.p. and put me back in line

Mods dont justify a higher price for the bike.....im sorry but i hate when people try to play that card

Everyone knows that cars that go for sale on here are priced higher than KBB when mods are in place. Come on...

That "card" is perfectly valid, and certainly worth taking the time to consider. For instance, when you buy a RS with a WRX or STI driveline swap... you're not buying an RS. You are buying something that is more valuable (to the right ppl) than a regular RS, as long as the car functions as it should and hasn't been put away wet.

I think the nay-sayers need to ditch out of this thread and keep the negativity to themselves. Let this guy market his bike. If he can't sell it here (believe me, I know how poorly things sell here) then at least he gave it his best shot.

Good luck with the sale, nice bike. A friend of mine has an 07 1000RR (blue/yellow) and they are great bikes. Only thing I'm confused about is in the first post you say it has $4k in extras, but now it's $7k in extras. Either way, nice bike and good luck.

Thanks for clarifying things for me Redline, which law office you at there in Haverhill?

You from Haverhill originally? My wife went to HS there and her parents have a house off of 125 near the Smiley School.

No. I'm from Lewiston, Maine. I moved down here when I got married. Now I can't wait to move back!

Nothing against MA or anything. I just miss living the simple life, near my folks.

Agreed on the decals.

If the mod value is correct and the bike not only immaculate through and through but also unabused
then $9500 isn't that far out. Problem is that there are always guys trying
to get rid of bikes at large discount and that makes it difficult to get what the bike is really worth.

GL w the sale.

Thanks Pete....I think this thread has run its course though. I think I started more controversy than received interest

Cool, I once dated a girl from Lewiston (she always said she was from L.A.) She was living here in Mass but I think she bought a house up that way. I hear you about the simple life, I really liked it up there.
