Question Questions about some aftermarket parts

Hello All,

Went and did some shopping today to start getting some ideas about mods and how I want to proceed. So....I stopped by a JB's AutoCentre (i.e. lame) since they have been advertising about now selling all the stuff in the Noppi and Summit Racing catalogues. The store was small so the selection hgad to be spilt between Import and Red-Neck Truck/SUV stuff.

My questions to you guy are as follows:

1.) PIAA Lights? Anyone have them? Are they okay?
2.) TenzoR? Saw some kickass 17" wheels but have yet to confirm if they have proper offsets, etc. Does anyone have a website that I can look-up info on TenzoR wheels?
3.) Ractive Mufflers? How do they sound? Quality? etc.

Your help/info appreciated.

Cheers,
MB

Hi Marcus....

1.PIAA lights - very high quality...probably one of the nicer lights out there. But you do pay for the quatity. (I can get these next day so long as they are in stock...I can probably beat any price or match any price you can find out there.)

2.Tenzo R

Don't think they have the Subby offset available. These are Taiwanese knock-offs, and usually only come in 4 on 100 and 4 on 114.3, usually around 42mm offset.
Unfortunately, there are VERY few rims that have the proper offset to work on your cars.

3. Mufflers...I have a KILLER 5 Zigen Fireball exact copy at my place..... full 304 robotically tig-welded muffler, with 2.5" inlet, and 90mm tip. Sound ?..I dunno. Looks ?... KILLLER !! Price....VERY good at $225 Canadian !!

When you're in town next, you can look at the one and only sample I have in stock. (will be able to get more later this month...)

(I swear 5 Zigen get's their muffler at the same factory, they are IDENTICAL in size, shape and construction....very very nice muffler I have access to.)

Hi Don,

Thanks for your reply!!

Ya the PIAA's were pricey! I looked at a pair of smallish round driving lights (full package with wiring, etc. and I think they were asking $360 for them ! Nice lights, but ouch!

As far as the Tenzo's are concerned, I was able to find out some info while surfing and they appear to come in either a 40+ or 42+ offset and I was unable to confirm if a 5X100 was available, but its pointless since the offset is too far off. Definately geared towards the Honda market.

Thanks for the info on Ractive. Do you have any nice DTM available? I'm just not into that 3"/4" inch tip thing. Anyone else on this board have a 5 Zigen muffler? I'm looking for something that sounds close to the Scooby Sport but maybe a little quieter. My Imperza is by business car afterall. Can't be scaring off my clients you know

Don, I'll likely be in the later half of the week of the 16th. I'll see you then.

Cheers,
MB

Markus - if you're interested in a deep sounding muffler try the "other" 5zigen mufflers. I myself don't like the fireball sound much. On my other car I have a 5zigen border dual tip rearsection. VERY VERY NICE SOUND. Deep, bassy sound...I like it a lot. I wanted to get a similar setup for my Sube...but ended up with a great deal on my Blitz so~

As for Tenzo and Ractive..well..they're ok. If you want to put it on your car its ok. They won't crap out on you or anything...I have a Ractive heatshield filter on the other car...and it works pretty well.

I would also be interested in the muffler.

What kind of baffling material does it use?
