I bought my wing brand new from Jack at MetroPerformance when he started import them. The bad news is that he is no longer in business. The good news is that the company that makes the wing is still in business, but they are located in Poland.

Not sure if anyone in the US imports these or not...but here's a link to the manufacturers' page:

Nice bug eye!!!

I have a 2001 WRX STI (version 7 bug eye) and have 2 questions that i hope you cound answer:

1. I have swapped my wheel for a V8 but have noticed that the clock sping screw holes do not match. What is the best way to attach the clock spring?

2. Also does the instrament cluster work correctly or does it need to be modified? I am interested in swaping my V7 sti gauge cluster for a V8 sti cluster.

Thanks

HA HA! I'm here guys! Been a little busy at work, but I'm still here!

I did post a few new pics of the EVO II a short while ago, but I've been really busy with my R/C stuff as well...

It keeps me occupied until I'm reunited with my WRX next year!

Not really. It's bedded down pretty good, so it's better off left alone in it's current state of storage.

I think about this all the time...the short answer is, I'm not sure. I do have some really big things planned (that involve COSWORTH, OHLINS, etc), but at the same time I could use that money and just buy a more more capable car in the first place.

The thing is, the car is so perfectly balanced for what I wanted, I'd hate to messs that all up. I mean, with only a paltry 200HP on a Mustang Dyno, no crazy stereo sytem or custom wide body, the car is a Hot Import Nights winner, Runner up in it's class at the Nopi Nationals, and dangerously capable in the Togue, not to mention one of the fastest Subies at our local road course track (at the time anyway).

I would like to add more power, but to balance that out I'd want to do different suspension, sequential tranny, conversion to 5x114.3 bolt pattern, and possibly the WRC wide body w/roll cage.

The problem with all that is it becomes less of a road going car, and more of a track-only show car.

The way it is now is just about perfect for me. It's my vision of the ultimate blend of street, show, and track, all while being extremely subtle with a lot of details of it's WRC heritage.

What I like most about it is that the folks I've run into at car shows, togue runs, or the road course seem to appreciate that it's something more than just another White Subaru with Gold wheels, but they can't quite put their finger on what makes it different.

I like that aspect of it...keeps me grounded. I think if I go crazy on the above mods I mentioned, I'd never drive the thing except to shows and the track.

I love the fact that I drive the piss out of it daily, afterall, it was meant to be driven, not trailered. I do keep it uber clean though that most folks think I trailer it everywhere, he he he. If they only knew how much dirt, grime, and rubber I have to scrape off the thing for those photo shoots, LOL!

All in all, keeping this car streetable will always be first in my book. I'm sure I'll update some things, but I am itching to have a track-only car. If I do that, I'll mostly likely buy something dedicated just for that.

Time will tell I guess

I think it's just about perfect as it is for the way you want to use it. Ship that Evo over here for a track only car

If you can make it happen, I'm all ears. Seriously. PM me with details, etc. I'd love to bring this car over and use it for my track-only car.

I'm dead serious. Please PM me.
