I am not sure if i shdoul jeut get the 5 zigen muffler or the exhaust...
first i want to muffler just for soudn and look... than decided to get cat back exhaust with it with a bit of power gain.. than i look at the SPD USA site and found this... "The Impreza 2.5RS does not need a large "CAT back" exhaust, the power is in the muffler can changes. see FAQ." so this mean.. no need to get any cat back exhaust ????? any one know? and also it the spd.. it put down the need of a better intake... so does it mean.. no need for weapon*R intake for 00 scooby? what the hack? no need for exhasut .. no need for exhaust or intake... just muffler??? i am confused by the SPD site indeed....

Tarun is trying to get rid of his. There was a message in the club email about it a couple of weeks ago.

$490 to $500 CAD? does that inc installation and taxes?
i forgot the exact price but inc installation that's about the price it should be.... w/o installation it's about $400....and price are CASH only.... if u want a receipt then add the taxes that applies in ur province....which is 7% in AB |

btw, universal fireball muffler comes in two sizes....
and the price i just posted should be for the smaller one....the bigger one is about $50 more expensive.... for "look" big one is better but for "sound" small one is better.... |

The larger of the two 5-Zigen Fireballs is a turbo muffler. The smaller version is a NA muffler.
The turbo muffler is slightly louder, and quite a bit bigger. Depending on your final application, go with whichever. Mine for sale is the NA muffler. To answer your questions, gerard, Mike @ SPD wrote those faq's a LONG time ago. Shiv has since disproved him with his SCC testing. There are gains to be made from a catback exhaust and intake, though minimal. Dont expect for the close to $1,000 you're putting into these though that you'll get huge gains. Any gains wont be overally noticable. Hope that clears it up! PS. Don't buy the weapon-r intake (unless you're willing to buy an AFC as well). I have shown you the ISR intake which is one of the only ones you don't need a fuel computer to run. Doesn't look as nice, but oh well! |

for cat back system...big one is for turbo and small one is for N/A....
but for universal....only the look is diff and the pipe inside is the same....which makes the small muffler sound louder than the big one....u can ask pccw coz he has a small one on a TS and his friend has a big one on a Legacy....which one is louder? hehe... the big one basically has smaller "sound".... Orbiter: my cat back fireball w/ header and no cat also has firebreathing sound...and probably pretty close to ur loudest? (personally i don't want to say which one is louder coz never really compare together....hehe....but Penphoe heard my exhaust once on Canada Way....) |

Why do you need an AFC to run the weapon R intake...Asking bcs I've got one without an AFC.By the way is the intake supposed to be that loud???

yeah...true...Subaru has a diff kind of "breathing" sound than other cars...and i love that...hehe...
also the displacement for my Honda engine and ur RS engine makes diff too... i dunno i have any fire though....never try and i don't think so....none of my friends want to follow me close or sth coz w/o the cat the exhaust is smelling so bad....hehe... |

btw, i only have a h/b Civic...couldn't afford any w/ v-tec....and if i can i might just go for a RS...(depends on the budget...SiR is cheap and might still not be compariable...ITR is way more expensive so that's a diff story too...but if GSR or Prelude to the RS...i will take the RS)
yet after i got the header w/ no cat i have some kind of tec sound....hehe....so cool.... |
