Make sure you get the intake tract upto the MAF. Dont want to have to buy one. Ummmm you might need the crossmember. Dont know if there 1.8l one will support the ej25 well?

well the twin cam 2.5 legacy sounds like the same as a 98 rs which came with a twin cam 2.5 liter. That's the only year they had twin cams. Check to see if it's a phase 1 or phase 2 block cuz i've heard that the phase 2's are better... reason why they are better, i have no clue

later,
Robert

Ummmm, the engine in the 2.5RS is a 2.5L engine. The "L" stands for "liters", it's not a model designation.

As pointed out already, the '98 Legacy 2.5GT's 2.5L engine is the same as the '98 Impreza 2.5RS' 2.5L engine. The MAF sensor might be different, but that doesn't really matter. Definitely get everything on the intake side, all the way to the filter box, as that stuff is pretty expensive. Also make sure you get at least the exhaust header, and probably the cat pipe, too. I'm sure the header is different than on the 1.8L, and there's a good chance the cat pipe is also. Actually, it would probably be good to get the entire exhaust, as I imagine the 1.8L's exhaust is pretty small and will choke off the 2.5L a bit.

If he's giving you the 2.5L's engine mounts, then use them. You could also look into getting STi engine mounts, which would set you back about $100-110 I think ($165 if you get the tranny mount too).
