Default Radar/Lazer Detectors

What are some of the better ones on the market these days?

I have been looking at them for a while and I hate the ones that hang off your window. So when I get one it will be either the Passport SR7 or the Passport SRX, the sensors are remote mounted in the front/rear of your car and the unit can be hidden, you can also wire a small LED to your dash somewhere for an indicator. The MSRP is very high on these but you can get them on Ebay for much cheaper.

Valentine One has a good reputation but is pricy. I have used Beltronics for several years now. Their equipment consistently performs as well as the more expensive brands in tests and has saved me from several tickets.

The new Beltronics RX-65 is what I would buy, if I were shopping for one today.

I love my escort. it has saved me MANY times.
I've never understood all the hype for the V1 arrows, it doesn't matter which direction its coming from, if it goes off you need to slow down. simple at that.

Are you talking about blocking items or how well it detects laser. Any way you look at it if you get hit with laser they already know your speed before you can react to your speed. Blocking radar or laser jammers are often not legal in most states. Often a extra fine or having this item confiscated is common.

V1 arrows
I find arrows help as it can make the differance between false info or a cop going to other direction. As well if they are hiding in the bushes. It simply speeds up your reaction time in order to know whats around.

V1 are upgradable. They often detect the latest radars on the market.

I like the concealed display. As my v1 is up behind the front window tint. As well has a black display when plugged in. I have the concealed display in the forester pocket.

I am not really sold on the escort. Many say it's good but it always seems to not do as well on comparison studies.

I've got a V1 and almost never speed. When I do use it, though, it's awesome. Arrows FTW.

If you want the best radar/laser detector, get a Valentine One.

Spreadsheet of the radar/laser detector results:

If you want the best laser jammer, get the AL, LPP, or the soon to be released in the U.S. Laser Interceptor.

There are big problems with the new Escort 9500i and the majority of people are returning them because of less range than the Valentine One and the 8500X50.

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtopic.php?t=22803

They are locking out signals from door openers and the 9500i is not alerting to cops that shoot radar in that area. Owners of the 9500i are also complaining that signals that they lock out are not staying locked out from the day before. They also say that their Sirius/XM radio is cutting out because of the 9500i and its GPS function.
