Has anyone dealt with any of the Buffalo, NY area Subie dealers? If so how are they and can you recommend one?

Thanks

Thumbs up

Bought mine at VanBortel Subaru in Victor.

Price was great- no hassle/no haggle.
I flew in from Chicago! I wish I lived by you- they have free loaners, cheap oil changes, nice service department.

My salesperson was Patrice Everst. You can check out their prices at www.vanbortelsubaru.com and you'll see what I mean

You actually flew in to buy a Subie from them? I went there last summer to test drive a car and they treated me real well. The only reason I didn't buy from them was because I had sometime left on my lease. And now they don't have any MY00 RS. Hey thanks for the info.

The Chicagoland area dealerships generally are a PITA to deal with. Every deal involves a series of back and forths with add-ons that don't make sense ( co-op advertising, doc fees, dealer prep, adp-added dealer profit, etc.).

Subtracting the cost of the airline ticket, I still came out over $2000 better than buying here! In addition, the way I was treated was closer to my Audi S4 buying experience- no hassle, respect, appreciation for buying there.

I made a vow 20 years ago that I would no longer own boring and unexciting cars. Now, at the ripe old age of 46, I will never buy a vehicle from a dealership that mistreats me.

VanBortel has just acquired a Ford store, and I am thinking of adding a T-bird to the stable.

Thumbs up I hope you didn't buy one yet

I just picked up my WRX sedan at Doyle Subaru in Webster, NY (northeast of Rochester). They had a large selection of WRX's in stock, and I paid $100 over invoice. I couldn't believe it. I walked in, test drove, salesman pulled out invoice, and said you can drive it home for $100 over invoice.
I went to Van Bortel's, good people, however service department is way to small for the amount of cars they sell. They were a little full of themselves when it came to the price. They handed me a sheet of paper (not the invoice) saying what the cost was. I already had done my research and knew it wasn't their cost.
Good luck with your WRX. I love mine!......Terry

Slowme, sorry this is so late. But I have some experience with Northtown Subaru on Sheridan. They have great service. When the WRX first came out I went there to check it out. The sales guy offered to let me test drive it, you figure theres a lot of kids that want to test drive it w/ no intention of buying it, but they didn't seem to care. He said he had to come with us, but when my roommate went to test drive it, they let him take it out by himself. BTW, I was 23 and he was 21.
Anyway some of the salesmen have pretty good knowledge about cars, but I overheard one of the salesman talking to someone else and mentioned that it was a 6 cylinder.
Their service department is great too, I think they're pretty mod-friendly. I went in for service because of ABS not working and they mentioned that it would be free unless it was the result of some modification or an accident, and I had gotten into an accident which was why the wire came off. They saw my intake and probably noticed that I had gotten in an accident but didn't charge me.

O and I don't know if this still applies but the saleman saw my RS and mentioned that previous Subaru owners get a price break, I forget how much but it might've been $1000.

Talking

Hey man thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. I am glad there is a good dealer around here for me to go to, not like in your area because you had to travel to get what you wanted.

Thanks again,

Bill
